Cordovan blucher, a suitable shoe for foul weather and the office?

Thread Starter
I live in the northern most regions of Europe, where the autumn is rainy and snow and sleet cover the streets for a large part of the year. I work in a casual office, but sometimes I need to run outside for errands. This has lead to my oxfords taking a beating and my Tricker country brogues having seen a bit to much use. In the worst conditions I wear rugged boots on my way to work and change in the office.

I am currently looking to expand my shoe collection with something that can stand up to the weather here but at the same time be appropriate to wear with pants and an odd jacket, and could possibly be used with a suit in case I the weather does not permit the use of my oxfords. I have identified the Alden plain toe cordovan blucher as the perfect candidate. Do the experts in this forum agree or do you have other suggestions?

This sounds a great choice! Also You might look at suede boots, they are also good for foul weather and easy to care
