Ummm... That Rei quote is basically the opposite of what you are suggesting.  Rei is saying wear clothes based on how they make you feel, NOT how they make you look to others.

Also, if someone wants to wear SLP, isn't saying, "you should wear Rick Owens" kind of like saying, "Just go be a different person."

I mean, sure, there are probably a bunch of basic tees and stuff that you can match between the houses, but the aesthetic couldn't be more different.  I would be floored if Rick Owens made a teddy at all comparable to the one that Adrian is wearing... if Owens has even made a teddy jacket...lol.

I know that. Which is what I said in my opening sentence that you quoted. If he is truly happy with it then that is fine, it's not my life.

The Rattler, you mentioned you have the stand collar Chesterfield - did you go one down from your blazer size, or take the same size?

Cheers

Does anyone have experience with the "Camargue boot low"? The listing says they're from FW13, but for some reason I just can't find much about them. They look less sleek than your normal Wyatts, Jodhpurs, and Chelseas, don't you think?

It doesn't drop below my waistband now, it just covers a (skinny) belt, right on the waistband. I'm not sure it would look good any higher, since I occasionally tuck in my shirt.

WTF? I'm not going to re-read but I didn't see anyone mocking him for having muscular thighs. I did say that those jeans look ridiculous on him, because it's pretty obvious.

I also have big thighs from years playing soccer and squatting, and I wouldn't even consider SLP jeans.

Muscular thighs or skinny jeans. Pick one.

Camargue boot low (Click to show)

It looks like SLP's sleeker/luxurious version of a cowboy boot with a roper style heel. This boot looks pretty "masculine" like the combat boots or the moto boots with the lower heel (from FW13). The different boots/jeans variations allow for a range of different body types to look good. I'm actually on the hunt for a chelsea moto boot from the same season. If you were looking for something iconic or "unique", then this would not be what you're looking for.

Not looking for anything iconic with these. I have the hedi 30 chelseas coming in soon and I'll probably get a pair of Wyatts down the road. I think I'll hold off based on sizing, though.

Thanks for your take on them, though. It always helps to hear things from a different point of view. Good luck finding your chelsea moto's!

Perhaps a long shot, but has anyone here been to the Saint Laurent store in Mexico City?  Visiting at the end of the month, and would love to grab a few things- especially with the current exchange rate.  Not sure how big of a selection to expect.

Does anyone own these? If so can you provide photos and describe fit compared to this seasons night rider and other d02's? ? I can't seem to find a pair near me in Canada and may resort to ordering from a non returnable shop in the US. Thanks in advance.

They look like the Cowboy Wyatt's, but not as sleek.

I prefer these:

There was some fit pics posted a few pages back. I just ordered them. I really like the wash and detailing.

Also Mr Porter has them still.

I was at the Chicago store 2 weeks ago and really fell in love with them. I don't think that I would wear them enough to justify the price, though. The ones I originally posted are only $600 and the only reason I'm considering them is that I think they would pair nicely with a less-skinny fit denim. I'll have to sleep on them. I'll likely pick up a pair of the jodhpurs instead.
