do you guys recommend sizing down 1 in the mid waisted denim, compared to your usual d02 size?

From your true size:

size down 1 for a tts and more casual fit

size down 2 if you want them to be skin tight

this is just from experience and btw I don't really have a butt so I never had any problems with sizing down in most denim

if you are able to size down by 2 sizes, your "normal size" sounds like its about two sizes too big.

@einstine I've lucked out and have stayed tts on all my boots/shoes (39.5) except my suede Wyatt's which I dropped down to a 39 on. If you are ordering online make sure you can exchange if the fit isn't quite right.

@echau bravo, making a strong case for me to find some chain Wyatt's!

I've been told on several occasions that the reason they widened the ankle shaft (and made jeans looser) is that people couldn't fit in them. It may not be a problem for smaller sizes, but if you want to wear your jeans slightly cropped like the runway, and you are skinny with big feet, then it's impossible as the shaft pulls forward on the jeans stopping them from just hanging like they do on the runway. The difference between the runway jeans and boots and those actually produced is massive at this stage.

On the mid waist, they're the skinniest jeans since AW 13, but it's necessary to size down one for a similar fit. However the thigh, and particularly the knee, is still a fair bit bigger than the AW 13 raw black and indigo D02s. I can actually fit a 27 with some tightness in the waist, and the knee still isn't as skinny as a 29 in AW 13. They should really take a look at sizing - I feel sorry for people that are true 27s out there, as if I'm not even close to a 27 waist (true 29 inch waist) and can fit them, then they must be massive on them.

I've actually stopped buying Saint Laurent denim now and have sold off all of mine other than my AW 13 pairs. The deciding point for me was seeing 16 year olds around the place that looked better in their cheap black skinny jeans than I did in my new Saint Laurent. I really hope they launch a super skinny cut, or revert back to AW 13 sizing, but I won't be holding my breath.

Nah man. My normal size is 28 so I used size down one which is 27 and I would have trouble buttoning them up and later it stretches out a little bit and I don't need to wear a belt

until SS15 where all jeans are a size bigger I need to go 26 to achieve the fit of a pair of FW14 denim in 27

They probably made their denims bigger because people complain that they were too skinny and you know....it was probably hard for most people to fit into AW13 denims unless you are really skinny. I mean I personally had no problem fitting into AW13 denim but then now that they are bigger more people will be able to fit into them. Just my personal thoughts I don't know if it's actually the reason why they decided to make them bigger

The reason i call BS on all that is because at the time i was wearing Dior 17cm size 31. When I got SLP 15cm I was a 31 dead on, in fact it even fit better. As the years have rolled on nothing has changed really, other than general fit. I used to go into Dior Homme and they would say Wow, those are skinny! but they really weren't any skinnier than what I had always been buying. I think its just a hype / illusion thing.
