Yeah he has accomplished a lot in a short period of time. I wonder what his work ethic is like.

I felt him going back to Dior for a while, similar to going back to YSL but instead of doing it for friendship he'd do it for a higher level of artisanal crafting. Dior is just better quality. That said, it's also high time for Hedi to have his own label. The only problem with that is that it'd be a little less shocking, because he is what he is, whereas Hedi overlaying his perspective onto Christian Dior of Yves Saint Laurent or is more dramatic and exasperating. I think that drama serves him well (and the labels financially).

KVA is so okay, that I can't imagine that'd be a hold up for Dior. The biggest issue would probably be Hedi's level of motivation. Having full control including womenswear and an established haute couture line may be sexy in itself.

I'm not sure how the whole LA thing would fly though....details!

I don't think Hedi would ever be able to (or want to) run his own label. He simply does not have the operational support and finances that any of the big luxury brands have, nor would he be able to implement his vision without the support of a conglomerate, unless he were to just do haute couture for a select few to compliment his photography. Even if he were to have his own label, he would still need to seek some sort of executive team to handle the economic aspects of it, which would be no different from what he'd be doing at any luxury house. Add to that the failures of his own assistants that had moderate success with their own labels (KVA, TARALIS) and who i'm sure share the same similar work ethic, I just don't see him wanting to risk creating a luxury brand from the ground up without some sort of reference point, although i'm sure he's more than able to pull it off as the SL rebranding shows.

Though in a perfect world, it'd be kind of cool to see him at Lanvin with his old assistant Ossendrjver supporting him, or even Dior with KVA assisting.

Suit came in. Quality is pretty damn good. Material is beautiful and the chalk stripes are done really well.

Unfortunately it doesn't fit me at all. Way too slim for my frame. It's going back to mr porter unless anyone here wants it. Retail was $3k I believe but I paid $1500. Let me know through dm I guess. Otherwise taking it to ups on Monday.

Still looking for that shearling flight jacket in 48 if anyone has one. KOP is bringing one in for me to try but $5k is more than I can afford at the moment.

Seriously, I really doubt Hedi would be opening his own label. There is so much more going on with opening a label than designing for one; all the logistics previously mentioned, as well as financial backing. Not to mention the very basics, we are not his bread and butter. The people who are posting here are in the vast minority of customers that make up ysl's revenue stream. While we may be here lusting and discussing after certain pieces, the majority of their sales are not on this forum. If he opens his own label, sure many of us would jump ship, but regular customers who know nothing of Hedi wouldn't bat an eyelash.

good point, for all we know that could be the sole reason for going to LA. who knows what will happen, maybe we find out after fw16 show shortly

Stopped by SLP today

Surprised to see the Skinny Frayed Jeans are actually D01. Sized down one and they fit just like D02.

Also found out that the Palladium show is invite only and Hedi is overseeing each invite personally. Unlike in the past, this show will not be available to buyers, bloggers and journalists unless Hedi personally approves. Shop SA's are pissed as neither they nor anyone in their corporate hierarchy are allowed or invited to the show. Hedi & Friends, even though it seats 5,000 people.

Of course the majority of sales aren't from this forum, but sales haven't doubled because average walk in luxury customers are suddenly buying huge amounts. If Hedi goes, sales will plummet.

@Prudy Thanks man, you think the fw15 cape would look good on me? I love its design but i fear since I'm only 1m73  it would look funny. Also nowhere in Rome stocked it so i can't try it :/
