ironically, the chain wyatt boots are the only ones still being without the seam, in exactly the same proportion as the original wyatts.

i have the non zip rangers in a 43 bnib if anyone wants them. they (and the zip versions) are probably the most practical boots i've had in a while, i've been destroying the original 11 holes and the zip 8 holes for the last year or so...they look and feel better and better. i really like the new cherry red color in the rangers for spring...no one ordered it though.

Cherry red sounds nice, the military boots aren't really my style though. I do however really like the military derby. I'll have to get around to picking some up at some stage - too many things on the list at the moment.

Seems the online store have re-stocked the blood luster t shirt already. Looks like it's getting to be as popular as the AW13 varsity etc.

"Back when SLP cared about the quality of their clothing."

Lame.

Exactly. People acting like SLP been around long enough to say "back when". Quality on sweaters, jackets, denim, tees, have been the same. Some minor changes to zippers and sewing but stop being so dramatic.

this is the skinniest biker from recent seasons. way slimmer than the boxy L01. it's also made one of one the best leathers (i.e. polished, smooth, fine), the design's also very classic. few buyers stocked it, so it went unnoticed, but it's by far one of the standouts if you missed out on the first and second season leathers. if anyone's looking for one, this is a good deal (and no, it's not my listing :)

speaking of blood luster stuff, sl should reissue the whole collection...but only the t-shirt is being added to the permanent collection from what i understand. it's a shame since my blood luster jacket is probably my fav slimane piece ever.

i'm looking for another pair of fw14 destroyed blue in size 30 if anyone's selling.

edit: the listing's on grailed, i have no idea why links here don't work.

didnt mcking post a lot earlier in the thread about quality going downhill?

that biker jacket is shocking. really bad.

them satin tour type jackets? shite.
t shirts with prints on are crap anyway. its like people who buy them just want the cheapest thing they do but to let everyone know its saint laurent.

No, I was going off of what someone said about their boot quality going downhill and I said that is disappointing only regarding zippers. Thus why i said everything else is the same.

I guarantee you if you walked around NYC or LA with a SLP T Shirt, maybe less than 1% will recognize or know what you're wearing. Try again.

speaking as someone who has copious amounts of sl from the first season under slimane onwards, and then copious amounts of slimane-era dior, regarding "quality". the first two seasons did indeed have better quality. it's lower now for many pieces, notably denim and leather. for example, i don't think you can even get the 100% cotton raw denim anymore; the denim now is flimsier and thinner; the leather's less polished and not as soft; the cotton in the t-shirts is not as fine; i'm sure many others can comment on other aspects. but the quality now is by no means terrible, awful, crap. if you really (really) want quality, go hunt down old dior pieces. they were impeccably constructed, with far better materials, and much less variance. many of my dior leathers still look almost new after close to a decade of wear; my sl leathers look worn after a year; my diors went years without blowouts; my sl jeans barely go six months.

let's please not turn this thread into a typical pointless styleforum bitchfest. there's plenty of those. if you have a meaningful contribution to make, by all means make it. if you don't want to wear it, don't. it's not really that hard.

Anynoe have the canvas backpack? Thoughts on it? Worth it if able to be able to purchase one for $500. How's the durability on it, and would you feel bad wearing it into the subway with random strangers sweating and rubbing up on it?

Nice zippers, thick cotton and a waxy finish. I like it. Even at $500 its pretty overpriced though, and definitely not going to be any more durable than an eastpak. You can't really fill much up with it either. I think the all leather Rock Sac is the ultimate SLP bag as far as investment piece and durability goes. I've traveled across the country with just that and it held up really well and didn't feel cramped with a laptop, a week of clothes and dopp kit, shaver, etc type stuff. I wouldn't feel comfortable bringing any of them to get rubbed and sweated on though.

the rangers fit tts. they are a little roomy towards the front, but because the toe is very, very flat, and the shape is pretty narrow, if anything you might need to size up.

Thank you for the detailed write up! I really appreciate it, and may not get the book bag any more.
