Hey

Sorry to derail this thread again but ssense, after several emails and nearly 4 weeks after receiving the return for a backpack, including a final email stating I would chase this with my bank and or via legal routes have come back with the following curt response:

Hi Randeep,
Sorry for the delayed response.
We have received your return for the Balmain Black Leather & Calf-Hair Backpack however the item was returned scratched (see attached pictures) and our return policy indicates that items must be returned in new condition. Therefore we will ship this item back to you to the same shipping address indicated on your order as we cannot accept this item back for a return.
Best regards,
Loubert

Obviously I didn't scratch the backpack and feel like I've been blindsided by an international store with ****** customer service, long response times and an unfair outcome. Judging by the pictures the minute scratch would have been something I personally wouldn't even register as a defect had it come to me (on the basis it's on grained/pebbled leather) - it could have come to me like that and I wouldn't have noticed or could just as well have been caused by their returns team scoring the box open (it was heavily sellotaped by me).

I've replied with a lengthy email telling them not to send the backpack again (thus landing me with further customs charges!) and have recapped on the timeline of events (they received the return on the 23rd!) and have finished telling them I am going to open a dispute with my bank (will do this tomorrow) to get my money back, and/or follow up with the office of consumer affairs in Canada (this seems like the org I need according to google)...

Sorry for the long post but I'm pretty frustrated right now - the backpack was $980 :( this is going to be my first and last experience with what I presumed to be a decent online retailer!!!

Any advice/thoughts/comments appreciated.

Sorry man, but can I ask why you are choosing to post this in the Saint Laurent thread? Surely there has to be a thread started for things of this nature already. Say the random fashion thoughts thread.

Also, never had a problem with Ssense and I've ordered a dozen or more times.

Thought the same thing...weird thread to place it in.

I really like the new lookbook pictures! Been itching to pull the trigger on some pieces for a while.

Yea, same here. This season has turned out to be one of my favorites. Something about the whole 70's, western flair that really resonates with me. Maybe it's listening to a lot of Hendricks growing up, I don't know.

Went in a week or so ago to check out some pieces and place some pre-orders and really liked this leather jacket;
1581755

Fit was great, suede was soft, and the little details are perfect.

Also tried on a pair of the cropped Wyatt boot in a caramel-like leather. Loved them on the shelf but once on they looked a bit off but would probably look a lot better once beat up (like on the runway). Also really wanted the stone wash t-shirt but holy crap was it short. I have now written off the tees altogether. Other than that, the printed button downs are all quite good and the jeans are great. Now just have to wait for the seasonal boots to get in stock.

Hello,
I'm a SLP fan but I've never delved into the deep end till now and want to invest in my first pair of Wyatt Harness boots but reading posts pages back people are talking about the quality deterioration. I do know that this forum has extremely high standards and want to know I guess what level the SLP harness boots are on? I love the design of them and think their so rock'n roll refined but will they wear and tear like Zara boots or would they be higher end like men's Jimmy Choo (IMO I found them to be high quality but I'm no expert). I understand nothing lasts forever but is the construction really that shotty is it still high quality but perhaps not as high as it used to be?

If you're buying them strictly for quality, then I would say look elsewhere. This, in the end, is fashion, they are not work boots. With that said, I have two pairs, both have been holding up great. I admittedly don't walk a ton, living in LA so you just have to figure out what works for you and what you're looking for.

I like the striped poncho now, didnt really love anything when I saw the first pics though :p some things are still too much for me but i like that jacket, its fun with some pieces that you can instantly tell are SLP by just seeing it on the street.

Ok. And would you go to them for dressier occasions or would you wear them in that more casual frequency too? Also are they comfortable, obviously certain boots will get painful if walking in them too long but from the moment you put them on is there certain points such as the ankle the boots may hurt? I really like that the height of them goes up to lower mid calf and don't stop at the ankle like the jodhpurs so I assumed they would be pretty comfortable but it's good to research.

I only dress casual so can't really say much on what occasion they will and will not work.
Yea, they're comfortable and I can wear them all day with no problems. Probably my most comfortable boots.

I got the Brown suede ones and its like walking on small clouds made by angels. At first I had some trouble zipping them all the way up but after I broke them in theres no problem.

Brilliant! That's what I love to hear. (Fan of comfort, allergic to uncomfortable Zaracrapatastic boots) I'm thrilled! I have SLP tops and knitwear and just got their skinny jeans so I feel like I owe them pieces these boots to complete the look. I think you can really tell Hedi really put together that certain clean, tailored but still edgy style and all the pieces should work together. I've been wearing them with Choo biker boots so far and they look fine'ish but I think these ankle boots will really refine that classy SLP style. I'm delighted now! I'm going to either wait for YSL.com to restock my size or I might do a phone order in Paris or something (No SLP in Ireland). Thanks so much for the feedback Winston86DIT!

Oh, do they run true to size? I wont have the opportunity to try them on prior to purchase!

Awesome! Delighted that consideration for comfort went into the creation of them. I'd love the black suede but it rains here too often, in general though how are they holding up and if I ever choose to invest in suede, is it decent quality?
