I'm confused though, does this mean no mens Paris Show?

*found this - http://www.justjared.com/2016/01/12/hedi-slimanes-saint-laurent-to-show-at-hollywood-palladium/

That's a pretty big **** you to the fashion industry if SLP shows menswear and part 1 of womens in Los Angeles simultaneously over Paris. Pretty cool :)

This feels like a bow out. And already the rumors have resurfaced:

How do SLP tees fit?  I usually take a medium in most brands for a form fitting look, but I ended up buying the distressed tee in a large due to it being the only size left.  Hoping it won't look ridiculous.

I'm not sure about that certain shirt but the slp shirts usually bit more on the shorter side and classic fit,, I wouldn't say they are long and slim. More shorter/classic fitting. But also sizing up they could get more boxy and wide.. Tbh they are a bit boxy, like I said they aren't slim fitting.

replacing slimane with...vaccarello? lol, that's a wtf on the order of electing trump. vaccarello makes tacky clothes for trophy wives and sad guys with mid-life crises to pretend they're ********** precisely because they're not.

i don't buy the rumors, kering's not dumb enough to lose the director of it's fastest growing brand. remember when raf and wang and alber left it was precisely because the brands they were directing were not growing (largely because sl was, thanks to slimane). so i think all this is just the fashion press trying to generate clicks.

that said, i don't think it's a big deal if hedi leaves. karl's already anointed him to inherit the empire, so.

as for shirts, most now come in several cuts, the key thing is to be aware which cut you're getting (skinny/regular/loose). if you have to ask how t-shirts fit, for christ's sake, just look at some fit pics.

In any case, it's time to invest in a decades worth of SL fits.

ha. indeed. if vaccarello DOES replace slimane, it's going to be worse than what KVA did to dior. his look is like a gigolo in a spaceship in a bdsm dungeon at a swinger's convention in a bad fashion editorial from 1998.

i mean take a look at this ****. not only is it obviously ripped from hedi in the first place, it's like someone with no taste ripped it lol.

http://www.versusversace.com/collections/versus-versace-ss16/lookbook/all/

like this kind of insanely tacky rip is basically what to expect on everything if vaccarello replaces slimane:

700

actually wait. on second thought, i have a bad feeling about this. i doubt slimane's demanding anything too ott, but my guess knowing bean counters is that there's a continent of dumbass corporate veeps and consultants at Kering who are like "wait, we can get THIS guy to do the same thing but cheaper!!". not getting that it's not the same thing at all.

Would be pretty cool for Slimane to return to Dior and take up both the mens and womenswear. Would be more expensive for us though!

That would be such a ***** since Dior does not sell rtw online. I really hope he doesn`t since I live nowhere near any boutiques. I get most of SLP online. He should start his own label instead.

Saks and LVR sell DH. You could also place orders with boutiques over the phone.

That said, some articles are mentioning that YSL wants to renew his contract but Hedi does not have any desire to continue in fashion.

Hedi leaves now and walks away, he leaves again as king pimp. There's no way he goes back to Dior - too much of a regression. He's established himself as maybe the only guy who deserves his own label; and I think that maybe that's the only thing that we should hope for. Although it's way cooler of Hedi to walk away and just do art/photography. If so, elevates all of the stuff we bought too.

An aside: I've heard it from a number of people, that splitting time between LA and Paris has been tough on some of the staff.

@neonrider You nailed it buddy. There are definitely a bunch of morons either at or working for Kering who see value only in spreadsheets.

Not Dior, regression like scanners says and bad blood given how *********** him over last time. Either indie, Karl, or total exit a la helmut.

I really hope he stays. I'm feeling the pressure now to get everything I want in the collection with only another season left (potentially). An SA told me that a lot of old pieces will be making a return for next season, with some new twists which should be interesting. It all hinges on the cuts though, hopefully they bring back the old ones (or close), but that's probably too much to hope for.

On a side note, ordered the Hedi 30 Chelsea as the online store re-stocked. Hopefully the ankles won't be too massive.
