Question for you all - does anyone have this FW13 blazer in 46 or 48 to measure shoulder-to-shoulder? Seller is saying ~41.5 for a 48 but that seems extremely narrow for a 48 even though it's from the slimmer days. Anyone have accurate measurements? Seller is not very responsive and I've been on the lookout for this one for a while

Also, thanks for the help re:Wyatts yesterday isolar

Which one?

No problem, man! That's a great looking blazer. Post some fit pics if you end up getting it.

I don't have any info on that particular model, but for what it's worth, I did have to size up from 48 to 50 in my Le Smoking from SS14 because of the narrow shoulders.

What's the best d02 year?

SS 14 was where they started getting considerably bigger. I owned every season up until SS 15, which is where I kind of gave up on them a bit. Thank God for the AW 15 D10 mid waists which are great.

Whats your feelings on the SS16 ones?

I would actually also like to know this. As I've seen ysl site and store sell only d02 but have found a few d10 in the wild. I assume not much is different other than rise but never know

Pretty fitted in the shoulders. Looking at the 46 measurements, I'm thinking 48, possibly 50, but then again going by measurements rarely works out for me.

Franky Paige I haven't tried them. I'd be interested in hearing from somebody that has both the AW 15 raw black D10 MWs, and the SS 16 raw black D02 on whether the leg is as skinny or not, if so I'd grab a pair as the D10 from AW 15 are fantastic.

Speaking of which, General Negative, the AW 15 mid waist jeans look great there with that shirt.

On new season, I went down to London today. Picked up one of the new black merino crew necks. They are thicker than the old AW 13 ones, and a looser fit. They're raglan sleeves, quite a normal to slim fit, and have a much thicker neck band than the old ones, nothing amazing but still not bad at all for a basic (not nice enough to justify buying two though).

I also tried the fair isle from the website which just didn't look cool on me at all. I'm sure somebody could style it well, but it didn't suit me.

The surprise of the day for me was the cashmere blend grunge sweater - very nice. I don't usually like distressed items, but the fabric is really nice, and it seems like they've used the pattern from the old AW 13 extra fine merino sweaters as the cut was almost identical (amazing - super slim and perfectly proportioned). The distressing is pretty minor (just two small holes visible from the front, one on each shoulder, with a kind of ladder leading up before the hole), and I actually quite liked it. I decided to walk away at the time as I wasn't 100% about the distressing, but after giving it some thought I'm about to order one from the online store now. Highly recommended, best fitting piece of knitwear I've tried since the AW 13 merinos, I may actually grab two of these.

I was also surprised to see that I liked the black croc Hedi 30 jodhpur boots. Didn't expect to at all. I may consider a pair with them being on sale, but with so many boots and shoes I want from next season, it maybe best if I just wait (I've pre-ordered the leather Chelsea, and now thinking that I should pre-order both the patent Derby and boot, and the cognac brown boot).

The Sales Assistant I was talking with today said that SS 17 will be Hedi's former assistants doing takes on permanent collection items (using Hedi's patterns and designs, but adding twists and touches to them). I don't think there'll be a runway show, but maybe pictures. Sounds good to me, and we might just get another season where there's some decent stuff to buy.

KVA... blazers are the one thing that haven't really changed in fit from since AW 13. I'd take your standard SLP blazer size.

I have a pair of D10 raw black and I don't ever wear them.. the top block is so roomy and suddenly at the knee they immediately go into skinny fit territory. They are a size 32 so maybe if they were smaller they would work better, but they are pretty uncomfortable in my opinion.. they almost feel like Drop Crotch. The D01 mid waist is much better but it still has that immediate skinny taper from the knee down. The D10 washes are much better in terms of fit, but i find them to be too awkward fitting. Personally, I think D02 is the way to go.

Do you know if that distressed sweater has the intricate knit pattern of SS16 and the Dior grunge sweaters (the interior knit kind of looks like a peter saville pattern). Will have to check it out.. Cashmere and Wool for $800 retail is a bargain.

And yes, those black croc's are awesome, just picked up a pair as well.

No it doesn't. DH knits are farrrrrr more detailed, even the cotton ones.

that blazer's tiny, i had to size up.

i know i saw one of you at bond st today wearing a nashville shirt and L01, who was it. scanner? keiran? smile.gif
post #11955 of 15704

Scanner you may have needed a size down, as the ones I have flow pretty perfectly from crotch to hem, and are skinny but not too tight all the way down. I went with my AW 13 size (29) in the end, and they fit looser than the 13 ones, but in a good way.

I'm not quite sure what you mean on the sweaters. The quality felt reasonable anyway for the price, but the fit is what elevates it above other offerings for me (I'm obsessive to a fault over fit). Yeah the croc Hedi boots are surprisingly nice, nice purchase there. The only thing stopping me is that those boots are awkward to fit jeans with in length.

Is the SS 16 grunge sweater you're referring to the shetland cashmere blend one? I'd be interested in hearing thoughts on that one if so as it looks pretty nice.

Neon I was at Sloane so not me. I'm sure we've probably been in one of the stores at the same time before though.
