Straw poll everyone! With Hedi's departure, would you continue to buy Saint Laurent or stop after Hedi's last collection hit the stores?

Continue to buy or stop? :-)

..we would need to see the following collection before making that decision guy

My feeling is wyatts with the higher heel and strap goes more with the rock/grungey look when combined with the pants, but I'd be happy to not spend that money if they look good enough with jods.

Look fine with the Jodhs to me buddy.

Think they'd work amazing with some black leather wyatts though.

@ohyehhh pants look awesome. if im being really picky id say that I think I would prefer the look with wyatts. I thought you had a pair though?

I never bought any dior since hedi left. and while I have an interest to see what vacarello does, I doubt ill care. I will buy the few remaining pieces from the permanent collection that I want.

Same here. I'm getting the trois passant belt and the chinos to complete my staples and then I'm out of here. May stick around for the red velvet boots shown at the Palladium.

I'll continue to buy permanent collection items until the point where they start messing with the designs, then I'm out. But like everyone else, I'm not wasting any time in picking up the items I want before Hedi leaves. Reading that interview a few pages back was not at all reassuring. I have no real loyalty to the brand outside of Hedi's work, like most people here. And while I'm sure we represent a minority, a lot of the people here have spent huge sums of money on the brand. You can't just write that off.

I'll hold off final judgement until I see Vaccarello's work at YSL, but I really doubt I'll be buying any of his seasonal stuff.  I've seen some of his womenswear and I really don't care much for his aesthetic. The critics who said that he could easily take over for Hedi because both designers do "rock 'n' roll clothes" really show how useless most critics are, which is why I have no doubt that there will be a wave of articles trumpeting "The Return of YSL" this fall.

@ohyehhh looks great man! I haven't been able to justify a pair of leather pants yet, but I do really like the look of them, and if I came across a decent deal on a pair, I'd probably go for it. Black leather wyatts are a no-brainer, but I think they look great with tan suede boots as well. It softens the whole look.

Not in NYC he isn't

Cheers for opinion guys, good to know it's still looks good with jodhs but yeah I agree with tanned or leather wyatts would look badass. I sold my fw14 nut wyatts as kinda had my eye on the new seaso tan suede ones anyway.

@OakGhost haha nah not yet, want to lose a tiny amount more in the waist first before I start the arduous process of getting them to fit comfortably - same problem with my crash denim jeans which it also feels like I'm suffocating in haha. But yeah these leather pants are definitely something I'd wear on day to day errands for the hell of it :bounce2:

I still buy Dior many years post Hedi. That said, they have some items which stayed true to his vision and I like KVA's focus on minimalism and a dressier aesthetic on top of the lux quality of the goods.

I would anticipate that I'll still buy SLP (in fact I have since Hedi's departure), although I'm more skeptical because what I have seen from Vaccarello is somewhat unseemly.

I think that unless they're complete morons, then they'll use the blueprint set out by Hedi and so I would imagine that a great deal of permanent collection will remain pretty much the same, other than the tweaks that have been happening from season to season anyway (most likely not down to Hedi, as most have not been improvements). I don't imagine there'll be any new items under Vaccarello that I'll have any interest in purchasing, but minor changes to existing items, and re-releases will probably be acceptable (I mean even I could design a pretty nice selection of items just by messing with the existing designs). I will of course be buying anything available that I like next season in case though, although I already have a lot of what I want, as well as back ups, other than things that are no longer available in the same form.

Therattler, I remember you mentioned that you had jeans tapered, how did they come out, and did you use another pair as a guide, or just let the tailor do what he thought? I decided in the end to return the Acne jeans I bought and go with SLP with alterations. Got another two mid waists coming in 28, after I just sold two a few months ago. I'll probably get next season's raw hem, and maybe a basic black raw low waist. Hopefully they'll offer some indigo raws next season too as I'm now using my last AW 13 pair.
