Just an old grey H&M one. Same with the jeans they were £10 in the sale.

nice @Prudy ive been meaning to grab one of those black twill western shirts for awhile. got the denim one, but nothing's quite as cool as black.

@ohyehhh im with you. ill wear a knit, but never more than that.

Studded leather looks good a page back, also agree with therattler that the black western shirt looks great.

On permanent collection essentials, my own list would be something like this:

A selection of black boots and shoes (Hedi or Wyatt Chelsea /side zip, cropped jodhpurs, classic two hole derby / richelieu oxford)

Raw black and indigo d02

Black 17 cm gabardine trousers

Black silk t-shirt

3 passant in plain black / grain de poudre

Some kind of 2cm plain buckle belt (Saint Germain, or the old geometric one)

Black cashmere sweater

Navy ivory cashmere Breton sweater

Black extra fine merino sweater

Black with grosgrain trim zip hoody

Black and white yves collar shirts

One button / two button / 3 button black blazer

Black Caban / Chesterfield

Museum briefcase

Can anybody confirm whether this is a reissue of the classic grain de poudre textured wool smoking jacket from AW13? I've always preferred the notch lapel two or three button blazers, but this one has really started to grow on me recently, and I feel that the textured wool and satin lapels make it a lot easier to wear casually with t-shirts, and not only with shirts.

Original LVR pictures from AW 13 which I think look great for anyone interested:

@Udo digging it man, look like your about to rip off in an old firebird haha!

@cesco10 if you are talking about the new ones with the nickel hardware those are cigar suede. I tired them in a whole size too big and the ash aft was still waaaay slimmer than my older walnut suedes. Over construction looks much better and it is the smoother less nappy suede. They are transferring in a park for me so hopefully I'll have em this week and will post. Only down side is they slimmed the boot and didn't seem to compensate with the harness so it is noticeable looser.

this is a really dressy look. super cool and sleek. perfect if you want to rock it everyday. a few of my go-to pieces for a more casual approach are missing:

L01

Suede boots (gotta have at least 1 pair)

grey/black striped t

good call on needing both the 3 passants and a plain skinny belt. I wear my saint germain one most days. Kieran, do you get any of the seasonal stuff? are you looking forward to any of the palladium pieces (other than boots/shoes)?

Excellent, imo. I have the nut suede from the new season and then black calf Wyatts from 15. The suede is very coarse, like a Roughout leather. Super rugged (relative obviously). PM me any questions you have!

Edit: the harness is a bit loose but that doesn't really matter.

I was going to mention a grey and black striped t-shirt, but tried to keep it to permanent collection only. If going outside of permanent collection then I'd also add some of the striped knits such as the black and ivory one, and the red and black one which are personal favourites of mine. On shirts I'd also add in a babycat, a polka dot, and a black pleated.

The other two items you mentioned I also like and are quintessentially Saint Laurent. The L01 is my favourite of the bikers, but while I've been tempted by one in the past, I'm not sure if I might be a bit old for them, and I tend to prefer the look of the plainer button up leathers with lapels, like the western one from AW 13. The suede boots look really cool dressed up, and are something I may experiment with again. A friend wore a pair out last Saturday night and I was really impressed by them. I'm not sure which model I like most. f I could get a pair of the original cropped jodhpurs in the light beige then I would.

I do buy some seasonal runway stuff but then much of the seasonal stuff I've bought ended up becoming permanent collection anyway (the western belt for example). I haven't bought anything but permanent this season, with the exception of the raw hem jeans which I ended up selling. Last season I bought the French 60 Chelsea, the black mid waist, the red and black striped knit, and the Saint Germain belt though, but as you can see from that list, most of it looks like it could probably have been part of the permanent collection anyway.

On next season, the boots and shoes are what I'm most excited about, but I'm also interested in some of the other items too. I really fancy trying on one of the mandarin collar military jackets with the gold buttons, although I'm still on the fence about whether it's a bit too ornate for me or not. I also like the longer blazer length. I especially love the striped one, but again too over the top for me. I'll almost definitely be picking up the Breton turtleneck, and I'm sure there'll be some other bits and pieces, as this collection is a lot more me than the current one.

My SLP stuff is all pretty mild.
Olive MA-1, PC teddy, mid gray double breasted overcoat from I think FW14?, SS16 knee patch denim, nightriders, Hedi 30 high (calf and suede), old D01 coated from one of the early seasons, Wyatts (suede forgot which season but old, black calf chain), Santiags (suede), black/white SL10, white lows. I'll probably pick up an L17, maybe a shirt or two and a scarf and call it a day.

I find SLP knitwear in general to be pretty underwhelming. Minimal interest in the T's.

@jwoowoo does it better than most. Not just in SLP.

I know that a lot of the Novelas Stylists will travel to SLP boutiques everywhere and bring back as much as possible (I know of a stylist that bought like $30,000 in white shirts at a time across several boutiques in SO CAL alone) for warddrobe.

idk why but this was dope to me lol. The fact that your family work in novelas. Maybe bc as a mexican kid growing up my mom and grandma would always watch them after dinner haha.
