Another rumour going around, which apparently comes from a reliable source, is that Vaccarello is already signed. It's very disappointing. If true, then I imagine they will have him doing his take on what Hedi has done, rather than allow a complete change of direction which is the only positive.

Luckily, I've made good inroads into getting most of the items I want by now anyway, and next season should bring plenty of good footwear options for my tastes. I have been struggling a bit with jackets from recent seasons though, so hopefully next season will deliver in that area.

Scanner, this permanent capsule collection sounds like a good idea if it weren't for the production. If they had any sense they'd bring back a load of items from the first few seasons, as they have the potential to be very big hits the second time around (items like the cropped navy gold buttons caban from SS 13 for example). I presume delivery 3 and 4 will be more variations of the varsity jackets, ripped jeans, check shirts, and massive quantities of dino jumpers.

I really don't know where I'll shop if he does retire and quality / availability of Hedi itmes starts declining. I was a fan of Prorsum, but with the unification of all Burberry lines going ahead next season, and the change from the very slim silhouettes circa AW 2012, I don't see that being much of an option. And I don't have any interest in DH today (just not to my tastes).

How would you anticipate quality from Portugal being by the way? The silk t-shirts for example have always been made there, and the quality of those is excellent. I guess there's quite a gap between a t-shirt and a blazer though.

@echau white JE and patch knee denim look great! Between you and @cyc wid it I think I need to find some white denim ASAP

@scanner @Prudy thanks for weighing in on the 01/17. Did they ever make a calf 01? Unlike most I'm ok with the shiny leather as my John Elliott is a matte leather so I'd like to mix it up. I had never tried the 17 in my size (44) until recently and got to try the 01 side buy side. I've come around on the 17 since it fit really well but still prefer the 01 style wise. Since the JE would be my "beater" then I'd probably be fine with an 01 as a more occasional jacket. Tough call..luckily both are incredible.

For those interested in the slp/JE comparison fit wise...L17 size 44. Also wearing the current patch knee in the 1st pic and the old in the second. Both taken to 14cm

John ettiott rider (styled horribly haha) in a small :

@OakGhost, I strongly debated the JE Summer Rider, and I'm sure it's an amazing piece, but I decided I want a L01 so I'm gonna go for that. Just gotta convince myself it'll get use down here in Houston. I might get to wear it 5 times a year.

@echau ohh if you are choosing between the two the 01 is a no brainier in my mind hahah. I jumped on the JE right when it initially came out thanks to a member on here since all JE fits me really well. It may be a decent alternative for those who can't quite swing an 01/17 even thought the JE is not cheap my most people standards! Man, I think I'll have to try the 01/17 side by side again soon to make my decision

I still have my pair.  I haven't altered mine at all, seems like such a bitch to do. People have altered knee-down to be a smaller opening successfully though (I'm pretty sure OakGhost did?)

IMO only buy them if you won't need to do much alteration (be tall) otherwise you'll have problems with knee placement too.

Had to sign up to the forum just to say that L17 looks so good there and fits you really well. Don't know how you walked away away without it if you had the cash to cop it.

@OakGhost I can understand if you want to switch it up with the L01 when you already have the JE, but I gotta say that L17 looks seriously good on you. I just bought the SS16 one too, and it is just perfect. The leather is amazing and it fits really well. I was debating between the 01 and 17 as well, but I'm glad I went for the 17 (granted I don't have any other biker jackets).

Of course, if you're on this forum you'll probably end up getting both eventually anyway.

Ahh, that is sad news indeed. I do not expect the quality to hold up if that transition is made; I suppose we'll see. I wonder if Hedi will go to another house, lay low for a while, etc.

Kieran based on your fits and styles, I truly see you as a Prorsum/SLP guy in the pure. The only other things that come to mind is Jil and DH, but neither is quite to your aesthetic. if you're ever in the states the DH boutique in SoHo is edgier than all the others and closer to the original (Hedi) vision. the others are dressier and minimalist through and through.

I've been told that rumour as well.
