J.Crew Spring/Summer 2013 - Page 7

i got the 2 Homespun Knitwear henleys in the mail today

Oldtimer longsleeve in natural - size small -

excellent material

fit is good with a little extra room in the body

Coalminer shortsleeve in bluestreak - size small -

again i can't say enough about the material...feels awesome, very high quality, love the color of this one

fit is too small.  this one fits a little too snug through my chest/torso.  length is great, sleeves are tight to my biceps...  exchanging for a medium.

hahaha not my intent.  i have a somewhat athletic build but i'm not big...5'8" 145 lbs.  the sleeves on that henley were super tight.

the small slim t-shirts from jcrew fit my arms perfectly. they dont squeeze but they only leave a tiny bit of room around the biceps.  the sleeves on that henley left an imprint on my arm after only wearing it for a few minutes around the house deciding whether or not to exchange it.

Well, not this weekend apparently. Just back from the store. Seeing some nice spring stuff, though.

Finally pulled the trigger on a pair of Preston Blutchers in chocolate brown. I have been in need of some good dress shoes for some time now. And no, they're not as great something like a pair of Aldens, but for the price, they are very decent shoes.

please update after you've had a chance to wear them for a while. i've been curious about the quality of j.crew's shoes and would love to hear about how they turn out!

Will do. They are highly recommended by George Hahn, for one, and I trust his advice. They look pretty solid.

30 percent off final sale items now in stores and online--but oddly I'm not in the mood. Maybe because I blew 300 bucks on shoes and a belt!

Anyone know when the chinos will be on sale next?

Or when the next 30% off or more sale will be or the general time it comes around this time of the year?

These sales seem to come at the end of each season and right as the new season is coming into the stores. Right now we're past the "holiday" season and seeing spring stuff, and there's a 30 percent off sale going on.

Just my guess, of course, but it seems to me like these sales come around about every 2-3 months.

Of course, you know can chat live with a J Crew customer rep. Why not ask them?

I bought something on ebay that I suspect is a factory second that was advertised as new without flaws. It's got slight fabric irregularities and a dark line through the main tag. What's the tell tale sign of a factory second from J Crew?

Factory label usually has two stars below the J. Crew branding. If it is a dark pen like a pen line, then it means it came from a clearance store. Clearance stores sell regular retail as well as factory items that are one of several things: overstock from a previous season, irregulars, and returns that somehow can't go back on the floor (e.g., the tag is removed, etc.).

i havent been to a jcrew factory store in years, but last i remember, factory store labels have an image of a guy holding an oar?

somebody sent me a PM about the bluestreak color of the Homespun Henleys...here's a decent pic of the coloring.  the shirt is really nice thick cotton and the color is subtle but definitely noticeable.

Just wondering... does J.Crew ever give out coupons that can be used on their regular-priced suits?
