i will be of help.

i have some of the j.crew no-show socks. like 4 pairs. i have pairs in white and grey, the standard colors they always sell.

i also have a patterned pair but i don't have those striped ones, i am guessing they are the same.

yes they do shrink after washing and drying, mine would never fit right until i did that.

last year they had no-show socks by anonymous ism and damn they are sick. i love 'em. quality is great.

Thanks! That's really helpful, especially regarding the patterned pair you have.

And what's so great about the Anonymous Ism no-show socks vs others?

Is there a huge difference between the Wallace and Barnes Dock Peacoat and the J. Crew Dock Peacoat besides the buttons?

Couldn't tell you. Supposedly Wallace and Barnes is supposed to be better, but you probably already know that. I've decided to purchase stuff from W&B over mainline J Crew if I do make a purchase.

I haven't tried both of these, but I can tell you that the Dock Coat has a fairly slim-fit and appears to feature more of a slubby texture. Here is a well intentioned review of the latter.

not too much of a difference really other than the quality being a bit better, and they fit pretty well.

i am gonna give some no-show socks by paul smith a try. i like his dress socks so i imagine his no-show socks will be great too.

What evidence do you have that the quality is better?

usually the materials are from well known sources, or the overall construction is a little better. The wallace and barnes jeans I have use japanese denim, are made in america and include small things like reinforced pocket bags, hidden rivets which the normal J crew jeans dont always have

Off topic but definitely interested to hear how you fare with the Paul Smith no shows. If you remember, you can PM me. Thanks for the info!

I dunno yet, just ordered it yesterday. I'll update once it comes in.

Has anyone seen the new Ludlow Fielding suit yet? I'm not digging the price but I like the design better than their regular suits. Higher button stance and wider lapels. I hope they start making more suits in this design. During the last Ludlow sale event I grabbed the light gray windowpane with peak lapels and ticket pocket. Should have it back from the tailor on Monday.

They are online but only in limited sizes. In the slim fit I need a 36 which the website doesn't even show as a possibility.
