can anybody comment on how to size with the Homespun Knitwear henleys that Jcrew stocks?  do the shrink in the wash?

i wear a small (perfect fit so long as they dont shrink) in the slim tshirts and slim sweaters.

Buy your size, and only hand wash or machine wash on delicate and air (hang) dry. Drying to shrink will just make everything weird.

this was the recommendation of 3 different people on JCrew's Live Chat.  each said the same thing - the homespun henleys fit a little slouchier than the slim t-shirts so buy your normal slim t-shirt size.  they will shrink bc the cotton is untreated but if you air dry and wash on delicate you shouldn't have a problem.

i got the oldtimer longsleeve and bluestreak short sleeve.  will update when they arrive.

FWIW, I seldom machine-dry much of anything except some tee-shirts, old yardwork clothes, some older jeans, underwear, socks, etc. My button-up shirts, polos, pants, etc., get a delicate machine wash and then air drying. If I have to, I'll do a delicate or tumble dry, but only if I'm in a hurry or the clothes are not air-drying well because of too much humidity, etc.

Do this and your clothes not only will fit better but also last longer.

Does ne one have this shirt and could you offer some deets? I kind of dig this for a lightweight summer/ springtime chambray but realize that it's gone UP in price, as per typical.

Was intrigued enough to look at their site re: 20% off sale for shorts. Spring/summer is finally upon us weather-wise and all...

Ridiculously overpriced shorts.

J.Crew pricing is reasonable I think as long as you buy during their 30%-40% off sale promotions. Last time I checked, shorts from Gant Rugger were $100+.

Very true. I get most of my l/s shirts during the 30 off sales. However, some stuff seems never to go on sale.

FWIW, I have noticed that the 30-percent off final sales often start on the weekend, or even on Friday, especially in the stores. The stores sometimes have them before the Web site. I think they might be about due for another one of these so I am checking the store tomorrow. A word to the wise--and the frugal.
