Wow, thanks for the warm words about StyleZeitgeist, guys. I was googling SZ to see who is paying attention and came across this thread. I certainly appreciate it!

So I was approved to invite two people, and as promised, the first two I got a PM from won the invites. Sorry I couldn't get more for the rest of you, but they're apparently being very strict about silly things right now so from TFS: For the time being we are an invitation only community (see announcement). Our goal is to have members that are fashion influencers. That means they directly influence fashion because they work in the fashion industry or are the type of person that constantly stays up-to-date on fashion trends and typically influences or educates their friends on what is going on in the world of fashion. Attributes we are looking for in new members: * LOVE fashion & LIVE fashion. * Trendsetters and influencers amongst their peers. * Always seeking more info on fashion trends, products & news. One of our main goals is to make sure that we maintain high standards and quality within our membership. We also want our members to connect with each other and help foster the sense of community. They should then try to get connected with others that you may mutually know to start the process of becoming part of the community. What a pretentious message.

The Fashion Spot is good because there are a lot of posters who work in fashion. You have stylists, buyers, and designers giving their informed opinions. You also have a lot of people who buy high end fashion routinely. They aren't trained in anyway but their familiarity with the product makes them connoisseurs. Personally, I talk about the clothes I don't wear on thefashionspot.com I talk about the clothes I do wear on www.stylezeitgeist.com and on here.

I just don't understand how they can send that email out in all seriousness. I mean, they know it's a huge dick ride myspace place now (with the exception of a few of the 50,000 different forums), so how do they pretend like they're a beacon of fashion hope? Whenever i get enough "cute outfits!!!" maybe i can post there.

Especially pretentious considering it has nothing to do with what TFS is now. Yes, three or four years ago I would have agreed that they really had a great dynamic; now, it's like a cross between Beverly Hills 90210 and America's Next top model. ...only with worse grammar.

I'd feel bad for somebody really knowledgable OR in the industry who read that message, worked hard to get "accepted," and then took a look around the site and saw the 52,000 model threads ("She's SOOO cute i luv her and mark jakubs is cool too but coach bags is neat did you see project runway it's coooool too") and 15,000 "cute outfit" posts.

Well all these 14yo manage to post their pics on WAYWT perfectly fine, something that I failed to do last time I tried (went as a link or pic was too big-removed by admin), so I guess this new generation is smarter than me, even though they like Marc Jacobs or know model names (I'm not even sure I can name an active one).

Yeah, me too. I think Kate Moss is the only model I know... and she's probably retired.

And, I think you're selling yourself short, Fuuma... you can at least spell Marc Jacobs right.

I stopped caring when I was 'neg repped' for calling Whimsicalist (sp?) out on his rambling, cluttering filler posts (seriously, read them, that shit is just odd and nonsensical). It's just a forum of ass kissing now, and before Style Zeitgeist, the only merit was keeping up on fringe designers, and since SZ, that's pretty much null.
