Actually, I think it was the Asahi Pentax S that standardised controls for the 35mm SLR as we know it in the late 1950s. The Nikon F is best known as the camera that kneecapped the German Camera industry when photojournalists in the 1960s traded in their Rolleiflex's and Leica M2s and M3s for the great leap forward from Japan.

I wrote a little piece for my Camera Club newsletter, Nikon F had design features were way ahead of it's time (like interchangeable Focusing screens and different meterheads/prisms/viewfinders). I have two F's and they are great to shoot with.

Hello all,
I have an alpa 8b camera, black body, schact alpagone 1.3.5 lens in decent shape
except for paint chips.I have not been able to find any for sale on the internet so I have no idea how to price it for sale.
I believe it is in good working order, although I will have it professionally cleaned and tested if it is worth it.
I understand of the 245 made only 88 were black which should make it very collectable.
anybody want to venture a guess?????
