The shirt is a light orange, the tie is purple and the blazer is navy blue.I plan on wearing it with khaki pants and brown shoes. What color pocket square should I wear?

How many other colors did you miss from the rainbow?

Change the orange shirt for a white one, put in a white linen pocket square and you should be back on track.

A white shirt is to plain. If it was a formal event that I was wearing it to then I would wear white but for this case I am just taking my girlfriend out for her birthday.

You're wearing a shirt that is so light orange that it looks white in your pic, but white is no good? White is too plain but orange isn't ? I'm so confused...

Put on a plain white shirt, or a plain blue shirt, and a white linen square. Done and done. Trust us...in your blue blazer, khaki pants, and brown shoes no one will look at you and think "Ah, that white shirt is waaaay too formal!"

You need a wider tie.

+1 white shirt ...better than light orange.. and not formal as you may think

Also, put a larger tie on that...

I suggest a pale blue shirt rather than white...

+1. Wide labels & narrow tie looks odd.
