There are more pictures on his tumblr http://meccariello-calzoleria.tumblr.com/post/88113649600/aurum-model-junius-side-elastic-oxford-in where you can see it's square, albeit a real soft one.

one of two current
orders i have with
meccariello

i wanted a
'classic' loafer
in the american
style liek sebago
bass weejun
or weston 180
but with nicer materials
and work
but not too dressy..
not a tight and closed
waist

antonio came up
with a last with
a roundish
toe and proportioned
like the classic
loafers

i chose one of
his old stock leathers
from a company called
pebody in northampton
(now closed)
it is a hand curried (?)
and hand finished leather
and bears the 'willow' like
grain
(not like eg's willow grain
which i believe is
a stamped pattern)
all the skins are
halves
this one is about 40-50 yrs
old

here is a photo
he sent me
of the leather

How does Meccariello compare to Jan Kielman? Both are at tempting price points for semi-bespoke/bespoke. Is there a reason to choose one over the other?

T4phage, have you broken the magic barrier of 50 pairs so far? A collection shot would be nice.

50 pairs is a magic barrier?

I am working towards 100 currently...
