Did anyone here ask Antonio to customize the footbed of the shoe to match a customized orthopedic? I spoke with Antonio about this and he told me that he has done this once before and I was hoping that it was someone from this thread.

Do you mean to make the insole match a custom orthotic? If so that can be dine by making the mods into the last and having home build up the insole in those regions to act as the orthotic with the arch supported in the correct places.

Yes, that is what I mean and I am wondering if the 1 person who had it done could share his experience. To me it seems like such a complicated issue so I worry that the result might be mixed.

i think that as long as the arch is lined up correctly and he uses thick enough material in that region it should hold up very well. It will take some time to get used to if you are not wearing custom orthotics, with such a sturdy arch, on a normal basis.

The shoe will be a lazyman cap toe in black peabody calf. Debating if I want a medallion or not, so open to suggestions.

I never thought I'd get into lazymans, but I work in Times Square and my nice shoes were constantly getting scuffed. Now I wear cheap ones to the office and change while there.

The last is a modified version of the one used in my tan single monk. I drew out the toe shape I wanted and Antonio obliged. He has sent pictures ever since my first pair, probably because I requested pictures for that one.

Yeah, it was a pair of G&G that I tried on in London that I really liked.

The lack of laces does provide a bit of a balancing effect style wise that I think lets more creative design remain slightly more formal looking.

I think I prefer them because it at least gives the illusion of normal dress shoes. (also as I'm not a huge fan of loafers)

I love the lazyman oxford and that's actually what I'm planning for my next shoe from Antonio. It is the ultimate shoe for the lazy person (read: me) who still wants to look formal. Justin the Shoe Snob ***** on them, but pay no mind to him.
