Antonio Meccariello Shoes - Page 148

Finally have time to try my aurum lazyman, its already close to perfection. The problem of heel slip has improved a lot, there is still some room in heel but it's not sliping out anymore. Only flaw I can find is one of my shoes still a tad long but acceptable.

His three pieces shoe tree is super snug, I have difficulty to pull them out and put them back in.

The issue with snug shoe tree will improve considerably over time. Wear in good health

Interesting, I had the same issue with my aurum compared to my test shoe, but it improved considerably with time.

If it does not simply write to Antonio and he can provide small leather inserts for the back I believe.

Received my RTW principes today. I know they are not bespoke but just wanted to provide my quick observation.

I have EG's, G&G's, Vass, etc... First off let me say Meccariello has true class, and when you see the packaging that will be immediately evident. At the RTW cost with the trees these to me provide a fantastic value.

I see a legate and a tribune in my very near future. I only hope he keeps the RTW line going with more options available down road for different calf, suede, etc.

Highly pleased. Pics to follow tomorrow, although not necessary as other members have already shared.

Glad to hear!

Packaging aside, even discussing construction, materials, details and finishing. Meccariello stands head, shoulders, trunk above the highlighted makers.

At half the price.

I really wish one of the RTW models were available in burgundy. I mean, there are like 4 or 5 different brown oxfords, but nothing in tan or burgundy!

I agree peppercorn.

Sorry for the crap phone pics.

My Catalines still need more breaking in but they look stupendous.

Would one get the shoe or boot trees for use with his RTW chukkas?

Anyone got any better pics of the "Antiqued Mondo Nero Red"? Thanks!

Incoming stuff from Antonio......

Argentum handwelted chukkas in willow grain calf.

Haven't had any experience with this leather yet but love the texture.

Like the look of this chukka over the "Tribune" model on the website. Has this model any specific name?

Oh, and great texture on the leather!:)

Thank you, I'm not sure if there is a name for it, but this chukka design was just something Antonio suggested to me, and I'd went for it.
The leather is willow calf.

Thanks for answering. Just have to refer to your pics when ordering then.

Gentlemen, for those of you who have tried Argentum RTW and have an experience with other SF-approved shoemakers, what would you say about instep height of Antonio's shoes?

Comparable to Bonafe (high instep)? Low instep? Something in between?

Thanks.
