Antonio Meccariello Shoes - Page 130

Thunder, those are some seriously rad shoes! Congrats, man!

What kind of calf and finishing is on the saddle shoe? I love that color with the painted museum effect.

I have emailed antonio some questions about starting an order, but I'm not really sure how he refers to the various leathers and finishes. The choices seem so overwhelming.

Was there an up charge for willow?

Thanks!

He used the same measurements based on what I'd given for my Aurum shoes.
But since this is a pair of chukkas (a different style), I'd opted for test shoes.... and.... also because his test shoes are bloody well made and superb value. They aren't some flimsy throwaway things.

Well, the Aurum shoes are made in Annonay boxcalf.
The finishing... I'm not sure if he has a name for it. I'd showed him pictures (taken from his IG account) to tell him what color I'd wanted. I think that's the best way to describe to him what you want.

mmm good idea. I may try this after receiving my test shoes.

True. I've been wearing my test boots more than the actual things - although it more because I want to break them in one by one, and the test boot has a thin rubber topy that is pretty for the current crap weather in HK.

Hi friends, what RTW brand would you compare AM's Argentum MTM shoes to in terms of quality and finish? I'm trying to decide between placing my first order for an Argentum chukka or a pair of Lobb Crepin chukkas from Nick at Bespoke England.

What would you all do?

Go with Antonio. You get a handwelted pair of shoes with a more customized fit.

Yes, they are different lasts.

Though I think Antonio would have modified the last I chose for the chukkas, based on the measurements I'd given him.

Incoming smile.gif not my first pair from Antonio, but certainly, certain, not last!!!

I love how my shoes turned out!! Also he is such a pleasure to work with!!! He even apologized for taking longer, which was funny as we agreed to have them ready only now, so spot on timing for me.

Sh*t I am happy
