I bought my first two pair of Crockett & Jones about 11 years ago in their London Jermyn street showroom...a friend of mine was wearing a pair of Crockett & Jones Brown Suede Tetbury's on a recent skiing trip to Aspen...and I really liked them...so when I saw their store in London I went in a picked up a pair along with a handgrade two eyelet derby that is now discontinued.

I have probably added 10-15 pairs in the last year....which I guess is a clear sign that my "addiction" has worsened hahaha...I directly blame this forum.

I am slowing things down and exploring new makers....such as Antonio, from whom I have ordered 2 pairs this year....and also took my first step into the world of bespoke shoe making this year with Koji Suzuki...from whom I will eventually receive 2 pairs.

I have been experimenting with some pretty wild combo's recently...but I am now making a shift back towards classics.

My most recent order is a burgundy cordovan longwing blucher which I pulled the gun on today and should arrive in a couple of weeks just in time for Autumn.

I store all of my shoes in their original boxes and I have shoes that I have never worn before...

I am not going to make the effort to photograph them all...its too much work and too time consuming...but I know many of you have seen plenty of my photos that I have posted throughout my time on this forum as I wear and rotate them.

More instant gratification purchases or more bespoke purchases?

IME with that sheer number of shoes you purchased last year it could make sense to go bespoke. 10 Vass can get you a pair of JL Paris bespoke. Even 10 pairs of AE seconds could get you some US bespoke shoes.

Nice! (and a bit crazy

) It could make for an epic photo though if you managed to dig 'em all out and line them up neatly.

My last 7 pairs were all StC, G&G, Bestetti (novecento), and Antonio Meccariello (aurum) MTO's

G&G is a bit substandard there, don't you think? Machine welted and ****

In terms of construction compared with the other makers listed...yes it is not of the same quality...we all know this.

It was my first and probably only "Deco" as I have decided the last is far too extreme for anything more than wear to a party or something of the like.

We should really get back onto the subject of Antonio's shoes though...

I am currently very late in sending him some pics of my feet in the test shoes. They need very minor adjustments.

Then he will begin constructing my final pairs.

Nice. That brings me back to what I was saying before about the shape of most wholecuts including the St C wholecut, they're blobby. But Antonio gives his great shape, that's why he's my choice for making a seamless wholecut.
