Funny, It seems that the owner of the shoe is a Japanese gent, as the ideogram"nailed" on the sole forms the kanji Kazu.

Not Japanese
I'm very sorry for this mistake, many of my Japanese friends have this ideogram in their name. I apologize.
So much for the show off on SF, dammit.

IMHO one of the best pairs of black shoes I've ever seen. Excellent choice.

How long did it take from commission to finish?

I reached out to Antonio at the end of December because I heard he was raising his price for the Aurum line from €1,000 to €1,100 and wanted to sneak in an order paying the old price (this plan would backfire because I paid my invoice before the Euro took a nosedive :censored:). We talked through email for a bit to iron out the details of the shoe I wanted and he sent me the invoice in mid-January honoring the old price. I paid a couple days later and sent him my foot measurements about 2 weeks after that because I was super busy with work, so I don't think Antonio started making my trial shoes until February. I received the trial pair at the end of March, wore them for about 3 weeks, and gave Antonio feedback on fit. He started making my final Aurum pair towards the end of April and now he's finished and ready to ship them out to me.

I believe I've read that Aurum shoes, which are made to bespoke standards, take twice as long to make as shoes from his standard line (called Argentum now, I think?).

Genius colouring.

Yeah, I requested a red/black, rather than a burgundy/purplish color, seems to have turned out pretty well
