Why the welt is squared off at the toe I'll never understand. When the toe cap of the shoe itself is squared, I understand that the welt would be the same shape. However, many Italian makers prefer to use a square shaped welt with the rounded toe. What an odd choice. However, as Hendrix says, the extra welt edge can be sanded off (since the stitching is nowhere near the square edges. Sandpaper will take forever, so a sander is a great solution.

hi, this is first time writing in this forum.

 

I sent a mail few weeks ago to Antonio Meccariello about made to order.

He reply shortly (will answer later), I am waiting days but still no reply.

 

He really looks busy..., I want to know How many days takes communicate with him?

It really depends, he has lots of work but give him at least 4-5 days to get back to you and if you haven't heard from him email him again

August, particular the second half, is the traditional holiday period in Italy and it is quite possible the workshop was closed.

Now September has come, all business should be back to normal.
