Yeah I've trashed it since it was only from a thift store it was 100% Silk made in Italy by a brand called "Missoni" I haven't personally heard of them. I had no clue what I'd ever do with it however I'd never seen anything like it so just wanted to see what you guys thought.

I think in situations such as this you need to sell the item for less than you paid for it to ensure that the curse is passed on.  You'd better go dig it out of the trash.

My first thought upon seeing this tie was that looks like a Missoni tie. Missoni is a high end Italian knitswear brand with sweaters typically selling for around $1K.

Known for its vibrant color combinations and zig-zag motif, Missoni sweaters can sometimes be gaudy. But its more subdue ones are quite lovely.

The tie's perfectly appropriate if you were somehow forced to time-machine back to a prom at Disneyland's Tomorrowland circa 1975.  

 

Yet another benefit of the tie is that if you are ever on LSD, it will just look like a regular striped tie.

 

So it does have some versatility.
