Ueno, Tokyo...is their anything to do once the sun goes down?

I'm going back to Tokyo next month for a week, and am staying near Ueno Station.

The last time I was in Ueno, I clearly recall little more then drunk salary mean and "adult" bars and clubs once the sun went down. Is their anything to do now?

Am I going to be stuck having to go to Shibuya or Roppongi? Does the JR still shut at mid-night or so?

As a aside, I wanted to pick up a Seiko Monster while I'm there. Any one know of a place to get it for less then what Long Island Watch sells for (maybe even duty free)?

Ueno is pretty grim. Nice zoo, nice art museum by Le Corbusier, less than nice Ameyoko market, then yeah, a bunch of smut theaters and salaryman watering holes. Best to cough up the $10-20 and cab it to Ginza or Asakusa to find things to do if needed. Some of the world's greatest real bars in Ginza but you'd need google maps and some luck to find them, saying nothing of reservations or anything. Good food and drink otherwise. Still the requisite amount of smut and sleaze but you'll not be invited in anyway.
