Depends on your build (and I guess on how much body hair you have). As everyone is probably sick of hearing from me now, my APC Hipsters have only three buttons. Same goes for a couple of non-raw pairs. They're really low, but none of them show my pubes. Happy trail, sure, but not pubes.

So even though they're one-wash, I should size down one or two?

what about the eternals that only have a 1 button fly? im thinking those may be the lowest.

that's right brotha. don't know if they're THE lowest rise and slimmest, but they are definitely up there on the list. i went to their store last year and noticed they had their slims in about three different cuts: slim, slimmer, slimmest, and their slimmest being very very slim. oops, by the way, these aren't selvage -- if it matters.

That's crazy! Doesn't look that low from the pics but I'm sure it is with just 1 button. I had a pair of D&Gs that were that low and I didn't wear that much. I got it 50% off in HK during the summer sale but looking back I think they're a little too extreme for me now.

In my noobiness I assumed that most Japanese brand selvedge non-distressed jeans were '47 or '55 cuts hence me phrasing the question looking for THE slimmest / lowest rise. My apologies.

So far I'm looking at the Somet Straight or Slims (don't seem to be much difference between the 2 based on BiG's measurements but the 28 straights are a 30 instead of a 31 like the slims), Skull 6x6 (problem is that BiG does not have my size), and the Johnbull SC008 (last on my list since it's not pure cotton but a cotton / hemp mix - though I don't know what that actually means in terms of feel, wear, etc.).

Which ones have the best overall quality (in terms of construction, dyeing process, etc.) since the measurements on these are all so close? I'm assuming, of course, that since the measurements are close, the fit will be close as well.

Thanks!

looking at somet straight vs pbj005 don't know if ill like the slubby texture but the rise on somets on the 28s are 8.5 so obviously the waist has to be bigger as the jeans will sit lower (on hips) instead of natural waist. somet straight 28 measures 30 waist = 15" however i have a pair of jeans with 15" waist and they are to big/fall down without a belt, but the rise on these jeans are 9.5 i have another pair of jeans 9" rise/14" backrise 14.5" waist fits perfectly, so should 8.5" rise/13 backrise" with 15" waist be ok? ideally im looking for a fit like this, and no crotch bulge

Skinniest low rise selvedge denim? Johnbull SC 008

I know im just stating what I said earlier but I agree with mis totally, if those american rags are not selvdege then yeah..... im toying with these sc008s as my next purchase but would love to see shots of the back pockets first, and fit pics!!! measurements.... infact I have a table of size 30 somet slims and john bulls for comparison.... the JB's are considerably slimmer but very slightly higher rise. john bull sc008, 18% HEMP!!! size 30s BIG stats waist 32 f rise 8.5 r rise 13.75 upper thigh 11.5 knee 7 hem 6.5 inches id like to know the inseam, bapelolol - if you buy these please post pics... I dont know what causes crotch bulge ( except the obvious! Stop sniggering at the back! ).

You can order the Skulls directly from Fabfour.

The somet slims fit kind of like Diors in that they're probably a 3/10 on the slimness scale through the legs with a loose-ish seat and crotch area.

Thanks very much! I think I'm leaning towards the Somet slims...

I've checked a bunch of rakutens but can't find any that sell Somet. Do you have any links?

Thanks!
