An opera term, just curious

Hey, I was just wondering... When I went to an opera in Italy, after performances, people would shout out, "Bravo." (which I'm familiar with), and other expression that sounded like "beeis" or something that. Any idea what the word was, or what it means? I've just been curous ever since. Thanks.

Italians opera lovers shout "bravi" (plural, not a singular bravo) and "bis" as appreciation. The greatest insult, only hurled at mediocre tenors is: "Go home to your Mama".

Thank you very much, that's the one. Correction: I made a mistake in my post, it was actually a concert, not an opera. There was one tenor and one pianist. Singular "Bravo" ok? Or is it directed to both?
