[So nice of the owner of downtown Cleveland's Bill Taylor-The Mad Hatter to give me a vintage hat brush her husband had kept. Likely it's from the years when the store was at other locations and had a larger inventory. Sure hope she finds another, suitable location - particularly downtown. Incidentally, I succumbed and went out to the new Mike the Hatter, way out in Broadview Heights, to have my two vintage and precious fur felt fedoras cleaned and blocked. (My latest fur felt trilby - the Makins - is too new to need this slightly extravagant service.)

Though I don't care for the location - particularly in comparison with being actually downtown where I feel all such shops should be located, if at all possible - they really do have an impressive men's hat shop which appears somewhat larger than what they had on Prospect. The two employees there actually thanked me again for actually speaking to the owner earlier this year and arguing for his staying downtown (he had been, after all, right down the street from the new Casino).

It was nice seeing these guys again, and they sure have flattering Borsalino fedoras that do wonders for me ("only $250 apiece....). They will mail me back the hats at a nominal price.

Any idea how old this brush might be?
