Fitting advice for my first pair of prestige John Lobb RTW

Hi everyone. I'll be ordering my first pair of JLP Beckett from the Paris store over the phone and need some advice on fitting... (to be sent to Australia)

A bit of background:
I've already got a pair of the Winner casuals in a size 6.5E with an insole which came with it.
I've also tried on the Beckett in HK in a 6EE which was a bit roomy in the front, then tried a Phillip II in 6E which fit perfectly.

So do you think it's safe to order a Beckett in 6E??

I know that they are 8000 lasts, compared with the Phillip II in 7000 lasts.
What are the differences in last fit?

If my understanding and that of a lobb selling store clerk is accurate, then the 7000 and 8000 only differ in toe shape and slight heel height differences. Basically the fit of the 7000/8000 should be almost the same for folks with standard toe lengths in relation to foot.

Also given that the 6EE was only slightly too roomy at front then I would say 6E is quite safe.

Can I ask how much Paris was charging you for the beckett + shipping?

I have the Philip II and Beckett, and both fit me comfortably. However, the 8000 last fits me a tad more snug than the 7000 last.

Paris was 1180 EUR for the Becketts. Delivery for 2 pairs plus an extra shoe tree was quoted at 290 EUR which I thought was a tad excessive.

Luckily I checked with the London store first - the pair was 885 GBP and delivery per pair was 55.43 GBP. Plus the export price is better since their VAT is like 16.66% while Paris is only 10%.

I ended up ordering from London instead.

Good you thought to check the London store before ordering. I was about to suggest an alternative to Paris after reading your original post.
