Roomy shoes always take away the character of a shoe because it looks slightly blobby because it sits on the foot instead of working with the foot. This is common place on the forums l see, but often nothing can be done about it because of the rtw factor.

I don't think so. When I bought them, I'm used to wear 8.5 in Mexico size, so I was hesitating if the 8.0 would fit me. The monks were painted by hand in there, so the artisan measured my foot and told me that the 8.0 is the good one.

Nice! I forgot to complete the idea haha, I would chose another color but because of what I mentioned I went with dark brown. Something in camel tone would be fantastic!

I am on a budget, so this is their lower line found at Nordstrom for ~$500, but it is truly amazing how noticeable the difference is between these and my AE's in terms of construction, these things feel indestructible on my feet.

Those look awesome! Not a great price for those, however.

I love those brown monks! Maybe I should cancel my Meermin order for the third time and hunt those down instead...

These are a pair of Santoni's I got from Nordstroms at the Mall of America a few years ago. They're a very well constructed shoe with a double oak sole. I don't remember what name they called them at the time. Very comfortable all day and wardrobe versatile. I have several pair including a burgundy cap-toe and a dress basket weave loafer. Nordstroms at the MOA still carries them. Good shoes.

How is it possible to loose the other shoe, especially in the store!? eh.gif You should check if you can buy them from the online store.

That's really a shame. confused.gif

There's a shop local to me with a lot of Santoni at 30-50% off, fingers crossed!

So it sounds like you bought them at a Santoni store? DO tell, because I really want a pair of these double monks!

No, it was in a local store called "Palacio de Hierro". Every year they make an event that it's called "Noches Palacio" and this time they brought some of Santoni's artisians, so if you want, you could buy the shoes without color, then you selected the color you want on them and they painted them. That sentence has a lot of them, they haha, sorry, I hope I explained myself. biggrin.gif

Ahh... I see. I live in San Francisco where only Nordstrom has them stocked. Even then, they never carry the goodyear or better lines, which is disappointing. I'll probably hold off buying any more Santoni until I can visit overseas.

Cheers!

On another note, we should start posting our Santoni's and get this appreciation thread rocking!

Wasn't that the purpose of the thread? eh.gif
