Coxaca, how much if you don't mind inquiring minds asking? Great looking shoes, hope they fit great.

I find this sophisticated bag from Santoni to be a great match with classic shoes.

For those who are not in the loop, Men's Ex has been running Shoes Book for different brands this year for their 20th anniversary.

This month's issue is on Santoni.

I'm not in the loop. What is "Men's Ex"? (I'm assuming it's not the gal I divorced a few years back.)

Not even sure where to begin looking for Santonis on that mens-ex.jp site. Any translators here?

Hello all. As I am new to the forum I felt it necessary to add some info on the Nuvola line. Let me qualify my comments by admitting to being quite complacent in thinking that 25+ years of Santoni experience would always remain the same. Imagine my surprise at my first look at the Nuvola line casual shoe. The old adage about getting what you pay for still holds true in this instance. Everything about this shoe says inexpensive. The most distressing thing to me is the tiny "made in china" info stamped in the upper tongue! These were an ebay purchase for me, and I stopped looking at details after seeing my old reassuring Santoni label in the sole. Never noticed there was no made in Italy to accompany that, or a width either! Again, I plead guilty of assuming this was simply a real deal on a pair of "Santoni" shoes of the quality I am used to seeing in that brand. No reply from Santoni as to which models are "outsourced" of if in fact these are fakes. I do understand market "forces", etc. that other Italian "designer" names have outsourced and diluted their brand in price and quality, just had not realized that the Santoni family name had joined the rest. For all Santoni lovers, I do not for a moment think that their higher end lines are lacking in quality, style, durability....Comments?

Yeah, I hear you about quality. With Nuvola, it's somewhat to be expected (from what I've seen). I was just at Nordstrom over the weekend and all the new line Santoni's look pretty weak in the material department. I don't think it's the whole company though, just the US stuff. Maybe they assume Americans don't notice rubber soles and crappy leather.

I've only seen Nuvolas on EBay from various peddlers and man are they ugly. Still probably better than most standard shoes purchased at department stores but nowhere near normal Santoni quality.

And I agree with Sestyle that many of the newer ones at nordstroms don't seem as nice, though these aren't even Nuvolas. I have a brown and black pair of Quentins, which Nordstroms used to carry, and they are amazing and way better than the current Santoni selection at my local Nordstroms. Online however does have some higher end ones.

I even asked a saleswomen about the rubber sole models they have and she said that they are great sellers. That people like them for walking comfort. If they are selling good it goes to show a lot of buyers are probably less knowledgeable or carrying about improving their style or quality in shoes. I mean for those prices ($540, etc) you can get much better Santonis on eBay, etc. sometimes The Rack too but that's probably a rarity.

Hello, Santonians...

This is my inaugural post. Been trolling for a while though. Just bought the Saxton in black from Nordstroms; rubber sole, feels good, but something in the insole of the right shoe is protruding - the proverbial 'thorn in the paw.' My first decent/nice shoe purchase, along with a rubber soled Silvano Sassetti a few weeks ago. I thought I was making a sound purchase, and they haven't touched any earth yet, so they can go back, but does anyone else have this shoe? Does it fall in the nuvola or classic line? Was it a wise (in terms of quality) buy? Feedback appreciated.

The saxton is part of their newer classic line, looks like nicer leather than some of the new models, although I haven't looked at the black model. I like plan toe derbies myself; not crazy about the cap on this shoe/look. Just a personal preference though. Sutor makes some beautiful derbies which might fill the same price point. I'd return it...

Could you post some pics please of your new shoes.
