I understand what you're trying to say here, but in reality I don't know it's that big of a deal. Trump's clothing is targeted to a demographic that is far, far from his own. I don't think he pretends to market to a higher class of individual. Instead he lets the connotations of his persona communicate whatever it is that the Trump name communicates these days.
I'm sure he sees his clothing line as little more than a business venture. At least I hope he does, as all of his creations are completely devoid of inspiration, quality or any discernible level of interest on the maker's part. Stale, cheap and completely dependent on the crutch of marketing: the perfect product for the lazy American male.
