Where to buy 2" silk skinny ties?

I am looking for 2" silk skinny ties, and am having trouble finding a good place to just buy some nice solid colors and stripe patterns. It seems most places dont have 2" sizes, or when they do they arent real silk. any help?

Can I help you by encouraging you not to buy 2" ties?

I'm young and I live in Tokyo. That's what people wear here.

Really? Which 'people'? Tokyo is so diverse and there are so many people wearing so many different styles, I'd find it very hard to make such a massive generalization.

And I find it very difficult to believe you could have looked very hard if this is really what 'people' are wearing and not been able to find anything like this in any of the huge diversity of shops in Tokyo, which include what is probably the best range of menswear in the world. I'd start with places like Beams and United Arrows, or some of the big department stores: Marui and Isetan are particularly good for the cooler side of formal menswear or the Park complex at Seibu in Ikebukuro. Or try the huge range of boutiques in Aoyama around Omotesando. Really, if you can't find what you want in Tokyo, you won't find it anywhere.

MInd you, having said that, you don't get much better in terms of narrow modern ties, than Dolbeau - mail order from Canada. Most of them aren't silk though, and most skinny ties are not going to be silk. You'll find a whole range of materials being used from silk through wool to cotton and hemp. I wouldn't get too hung up on silk of you are going really fashion-forward.

Well then I suppose you have no choice.

What is the point of this post?

OP, I'd recommend Peckham Rye. Their ties are nice if you like skinny, and I think they're made in England.

Dear Mr. Google, please find me "2 inch ties". See what it returns. Not sure what quality you are looking for or your price range.

Band of Outsiders ties are 2".

These are limited edition design 2.2 inch silk ties. No solid colours unfortunately, solid colours are more difficult to partner with pocket squares.

Exactly what I said, to encourage OP not to buy and wear skinny ties?

Didn't sound like it but my advice would be the same regardless. In any case, I don't quite understand why doesn't he just ask ask all these other people, whether they are co-workers, friends or whatever, where they get their ties...

In fact, if you want these I'm trying to get rid of them.. I'm sure we could work out a price if you're interested.. The top tie I've worn out a few times and needs to be pressed.. The silk tie in the middle I've worn only once to the club.. The bottom wool/silk tie I've never worn before and never will.. All Dior from recent seasons, two from the boutique on 5th Avenue (I still have the receipt), one from Luisaviaroma in Italy.

I've got a couple of Barney's New York CO-OP neckties, they are 2" wide. Very trendy indeed. smile.gif

I've lived here for the past three years and have observed a lot of different people and am completely comfortable making that generalization. And in case your wanted to know, every tie United Arrows sells is 2".... It's the price that's more the issue for me because I am a student (they come out to about $100 with the exchange rate)
