Tan shoes in winter?

Is there a rule (or guideline) for this?  How does everyone feel about wearing tan / light brown shoes in winter?

Thanks,

Dave

How light are we talking? I could imagine a brown on the lighter side of medium in a pebble grain being a possibility for winter.

I think that color is fine for winter.

I've added the photo of said shoes in the event someone reads this thread 5 years from now and the link died.
These shoes are fine year round. Snow and salt will be your enemy though so take precautions by puchasing a pair of galoshes.

I personally do not wear or recommend wearing true tan shoes in winter. Welcome to Styleforum.

Thanks a lot, guys.  Man of Lint, what do you mean by true tan shoes? Lighter?

I was wondering the same thing. I went tan shoe hunting yesterday and 2 stores told me that it would be hard for me to find tan shoes because fall is here and that I should be looking for a darker shoe.

There are guidelines to it but if you ask me I can careless about them. I dress as I please.

Country brogues in light colors make fine shoes for autumn... So do boots for winter... smile.gif
