Dear Folks:
Today: 14 tweed coats by Fallan & Harvey and one by Dege, both of Savile Row. Dege is now joined into Dege & Skinner; Fallan & Harvey has been absorbed into Davies & Son. All are very respected firms.
All coats were made for the same man from about 1990 to about 2005.
Every coat is single breasted with notch lapels and a two button front, two working cuff buttons and one or two non working (‘sham’) buttons, and a double rear vent. All the fabrics are wool, and all coats are fully lined.
All were made for the same man, with measurements that fit men from 40R to 42L. I believe the client stood about 6 feet tall.
If you contemplate alterations, I believe a tailor could raise the skirt by half an inch without affecting balance. Most usefully, all coats were made with a diagonal fold of material at the cuff, so you can easily add an inch to the arm measure without affecting the working buttonholes. Letting out or taking in a coat by 2 inches should be no problem. All of these fabric tailor beautifully.
Bespoke clothing was this mhis hobby and his wardrobe was vast, each coat was very lightly worn if it was worn at all.
The fabrics and colorways are rich and varied. Some are fuzzy Shetlands, while others have a harder finish. I think there is something for everyone, especially at these prices.
Some have sold already, and others are now on ebay for higher prices then those listed here.
To have such a coat made today would cost you about $3000. In the fall I will sell them for more but my current price is only $300 ---->$200 shipped in the US. Shipping to Canada is 25 USD, shipping to the rest of the world is 35 USD.
At this point, only one coat remains.
