Vintage Florsheims for me are my favorite. I love the detailing and leather used on the imperial line. Plus the 5 nail v cleat soles are very sturdy and last a lot longer.

Wow, it's amazing to me you were unable to find another among all the ones you tried that wouldn't fit. Good to hear you finally found one though.

Good things do not last ( pun intended) forever. I was in Vienna
last October and made a beeline to L. Reiter. Needless to say,
the one last that fit me (Amerikaner) has been discontinued.
A special makeup for me in that last would be 800 Euros. I didn't bite.
But I may since the Euro has dropped significantly since then.

I have Alden, Vass, Lotusse, Carmina, C&J Handgrade, Churchs Custom Grade, and JMW. I love all of them!!... the quality of materials and construcction are almost equal.

I have no fave brand (just some favorite models that fit me well) but my Vass and JM Weston are special for me. The former because of their craftmanship, construction, materials and the hungarian styles (Alt Wien, Budapester) and the latter because of the beauty of their iconic models (180 and Demichase) and quality of leather uppers and outsoles. The first quality shoes I bought 17 years ago were JMW and I was delighted. Afterwards Vass book came to my hands and I started to become more fascinating about shoes and the craftmanship of HW shoes. I must admit that sentimentality has something to do with the value given to both brands.

I would really love to wear (not willing to pay that amount of money) some iconic models of JL (DM WII and JP II), EG (Galway) and SC. I am not very found of GGrefinement, although I admire them much.
