You're new here, there's no reason any members should bend over backwards to welcome you and help you. TB gave you the answer, and added a suggestion, if a snarky one, for you to find answers to your questions in the future. Don't be a dick about it.

Responding is not 'bending over backwards'--if you think it is, you're RUDE, as was the other poster.  If he didn't want to bend over backwards, how about not responding at all?

Sheez...

I really hate that response.

I owe you an apology.. When you said you were new, I thought you meant you were new to StyleForum, but I see now that you're also new to the Internet. Welcome.

But then how would you 1) get the answer to your question 2) figure out how to search for question answers in the future? TB's answer to you was actually very informative.

If nobody responds at all, are you going to spend the 15 seconds to go find the answer for yourself? Or are you going to ask your question again and keep shitting up the thread? Look, I know it seems like not a big deal to just ask a question and have somebody tell you the answer. But for people who post on the board a lot, it gets really annoying and tiresome to answer the same questions again and again, which are readily available if you just spend a little bit of your time searching. After you've been around for a while, you'll see what I mean.

The board is very welcoming of new members who are willing to read a bit first, or at least are willing to take a hint when it's given to them. For instance if you had responded to TB and just said, "Ah silly me, should have searched first!" then nobody really cares about the whole thing. But this attitude that we're here to answer all the questions you have at your beck and call (although there is an entire thread devoting to asking questions and getting answers, and if you asked there you probably would get an answer to this question and any similar ones...but you might have to search to find it) is kind of insulting.

Blah blah blah.

For guys who aren't interested in responding to someone too lazy to use the 'search' function... you sure are responding a lot.

You all can have the last word, I'm done with this ridiculousness.

And for a guy who got a 2-link answer to his question the very first time he asked, you sure complain a lot.

I may have poked fun at you for not being very proactive, but I also answered your question. I don't recall being thanked for that.
