Accutane (?) - Page 6

I've gone on two accutane treatments, and now have moderate acne. (It's been about six months since last treatment) I got none of the severe side effects, except chapped lips, and major sunburn a couple times. It comes back about 4 months after treatment for me at least.

OP: I took it when I was a teenager. It works--there is no doubt about that. Keep in mind that you will get nose bleeds with it. You have to drink a lot of water.

As soon as you were done with the accutane did you start on Tetra?

Ive taken just about everything for Acne a while ago, but I found the magic bullet

Vitamin B5, in larger amounts

please look it up on google for dosing directions, etc

some may say 5-10g of panothenic acid is dangerous, but its a water soluble vitamin, Ive taken huge doses and know people who have, and have never heard any bad stories other than some diarrhea during the first week or two

only some b*tch on the internet who is selling her "ebook" on her alleged cure/regimen badmouths it but she obviously is like neutrogena; they dont want you to get cured, just continue to buy their stuff

vitamin B5 is the real deal, I swear by it, but try it for yourself, it only costs about $10 for a large bottle anyway

please look up dosing directions first

I am finishing up accutane next month... I'm 18.

I didn't expierence any of the really bad side effects. About 2 months in, I would have the occasional nosebleed, and my lips are (on month 5) ALWAYS chapped. Its a pain in the ass being dehydrated all the time, but I don't have acne! By month three most if not all of my blemishes were gone, and I am not acne free! I'd say go for it, based on my personal expierence alone.

I have the clarrisonic (sp?) "face brush" from sonicare, and exfoliate every other day, the dry skin can really build up if you don't take care of yourself. I tried a variety of both over the counter, and perscription (duac+doxycyclene) and neither worked, I was terrified of accutane, but I decided to take the plunge... and I'm happy I did!

Dabei ist es so einfach...back to basis!!!
Lieben Gruß. Viagra bestellen

I've been on high-dose accutane three times for about 8 months each time (when I was 15, 17, 19 years old... I'm now 23). I went on it because nothing else seemed to work: benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, benzyamycin, eurtheromycin, retina-micro, etc, etc. It's insane how well this drug works, but it has massive side effects. The biggest thing for me was the achy joints. I ran cross country when I first went on it and I noticed that my 5K got 2 minutes (sucks!) slower as soon as they put me on high dose and my joints were painfully achy then before and after. Your face gets pretty dried out even if you used to really oily, so try not to wash your face or use other acne medications while on it. I never really got the depression while I was on it, but I noticed decreased night vision while on it. One of my good friends used to take it and he claims that his night vision is still jacked up from when he took accutane. Oh yeah, I also got the nose bleeds and chapped lips that others mentioned. I am pretty sure that it jacks with your liver pretty bad to, so you might want to watch out about that. If you have bad acne and nothing else works I would say go for it, but I wouldn't do it in the middle of your sports season if you are worried about performance. I think my acne started coming back after about a year, and I went on another high dose a year after that. I ended up going on it again in college, but ended up bumping down to a half-dose (and that was enough to keep my acne at bay). Currently, my face is still oily and I'll break out if I don't slather up in 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. I probably wouldn't go back on accutane unless my face got REALLY bad (3x is enough I would say). Although accutane is very convenient... if you are on a full dose you can take 2 pills a day and never have to worry about washing your face or putting on creams or any of that crap... it's awesome! It would take 3 days to accumulate enough oil on my face that I can now produce in 1/2 a day!

Hallo,

Gruss Viagra bestellen

Best advice I have heard for acne is to sleep with a clean towel over your pillow every night.

I just consulted for a huge event in NYC for a hotel hosting a dermatological conference. I heard a lot of talk about accutane. It's amazing just how much pseudo science is out there regarding acne. It must really be terrible to suffer from it though, if it's noticeably bad.

does anyone here actually do their OWN research or completely listen only to clueless dermatologists? antibiotics are ridiculous for treating acne and using a cancer drug is absolutely asinine heres the issue: all acne has a hormonal PART to it. which presents a huge problem, because dermatologists aren't endocrinologists and know just about nutrition as joeblow down the block. so add on they are clueless on how diet plays a factor in hormones. and not just 'male' hormones like testosterone.. insulin/IGF-1 are a much bigger player. women with PCOS aren't acne prone because of higher test levels, and thats why normally they are placed on low carbohydrate diets. and theres a reason why its observed that hypertestosteronemia is not seen the typical male acne patient. still, no one can explain why acne is epidemic like in this country (and rose dramatically over the years in societies slowly adopting a western diet), yet in cultures living primitively there is none. i highly suggested searching medical and research journals for search strings related to diet and acne.. every month 2 or 3 are published and for the last decade nearly all of them show a positive correlation. or take a look/search at just some of the studies at the bottom listed on the viewpoint/theory article, which is just a start...linking them would take way to long http://www.cancersupportinternationa...iet%20Acne.pdf

cleaning your pillow every night is a great example. I mean jeez, I bet the dermatology practices out there all see a huge surge in acne patients who start working construction. landscaping and other manual labor jobs with all that dirt and god knows what.
