styling thick hair

hi i am indian, and as most indians i have very thick hair. at the moment i am using shockwaves plastic elastic, it is good when your hair is short, but i am growing my hair a tiny bit more, so i was wondering if any1 knows a good decent high street market gel,wax or gum for thick hair that gives you a good natural look without looking to greasy or shiny. thanks

Hey

Same problem. Same style hair. What I suggest is you get yourself some straightening irons. Works for me. but straighten the same part about three times, trust me on this one. After, spray 'Redken Spray Starch' onto your hair. Finally, striaghten again, and it should hold your hair into position. Works for me. Give it a try...

Why not tell your hairdresser to use thinning shears?

I totallllly understand your problem, the Indian hair thing can get pretty crazy.

I think the best product that I used was Jonathan Product Dirt. Just use a little bit.

It doesn't look greasy at all. It has a matte look, and really does live up to what it says on the box :-)

oh and thinning sheers work too, but I find that it just isn't enough.

Yea, I'm injun too. I love my hair but its think like you. I always wanted to do that Steve Nash cut but it doesn't straighten like that.

I think this is impossible with my hair so I keep it short.
