Possible clashing of denim? Making combinations work... [pics]

First off, let me start by saying I don't necessarily like denim for anything other than for pants. However, I found a very lightweight denim shirt at BR that I fell in love with when I tried it on for laughs. I guess the "proper" name is chambray... I tried it on with some khaki chinos (just okay) as well as some dark grey Levi's 511's. I have to say, I actually like the combination of these two (jeans+shirt) together. Here are pictures of the separate items, as well as them being worn by me. Does this seem to be clashing? Or is this tasteful? If not jeans, I was contemplating black or navy chinos instead.

**As a side-note, the colors are a little off in the picture of the items not being worn. They are a little darker than pictured. In person, they look more like the image of me wearing them.

Opinions gentlemen?

The big thing with wearing multiple denim items is making sure they don't match. Doesn't look great in the picture you took, IMO, but it could be worse. Frankly, the combination looks better in the second one where there's greater contrast between the two pieces.

I think it would look kinda cool with some grey or maybe white denim if you're feeling bold. Could always wear it with a basic khaki chino if you're not.
