Gomestar, could you try this place and bring us back a report? From the review, it sounds like you really do have truly memorable Tex-Mex in NY.

Take Booth with you.

I also think that landlords who don't allow dogs are dicks.

Do you feel that landlords who don't want tenants who smoke are dicks?

FWIW, condos and co-ops are mostly smoke free. So are sidewalks in the city. You're a reject of society for smoking anywhere in the city these days. We want to treat criminals better than smokers.

I was making a distinction between tenants who smoke vs. tenants smoking in the building. Big difference.

And you can't smoke on sidewalks? I see this all the damn time. It's banned in parks, I know, but sidewalks?

A manager came over and told her dogs were only allowed on the 1st floor and she indignantly replied that it was a service dog. He stared her down for a second and she added "I'm deaf".

We have a couple in our (non-dog) building. These women get in agreeing to abide by the rules and then a couple of months later get the pooch, accompanied w/ a note from their shrink. When the building objects they sue and at some point the legal bills cause the building to cave. its a pain in the a$$ as they tie up the freight elevators (which they make them use) w/ the constant walking

This girl came in my buddy's bar a couple months back and when her scarf moved I realized it was a dog.  Quietest little dog I have ever seen in my entire life.  She said she was bipolar it was her service dog.  The damn thing even had an official looking license

I thought bipolar was a gay white bear

Aren't like 90% of women bipolar? I know my mother and gf are and they don't have dogs. The thought of a dog would make them stressed and go into a manic episode.

Well 20 feet from entrances. In most places that means you have to be curbed by the street.

A lot of people in my building smoke, oddly. There were complaints sent out that they need to be by the street or on the opposite side of the street because it could be smelled in their children's room (5th floor). rolleyes.gif I think people just love to hate on smokers. Also, no smoking in our common backyard. Fucking fascists.

Everybody in my building smokes too. There's even this one guy who dresses up in drag each weekend and then chain smokes in the common backyard. He's a nice dude.

The big difference in my building is nobody gives a fuck about what you do, so it's a nice mix of well-off young people and punky hipsters.

An interesting chart on where people in NY come from.    I was surprised to see how tiny the representation from Western states (1%!) or the South (3%) are.  Not surprised by the international %.
