I tend to see surprisingly few tourists, though a lot of that can be contributed to the fact that I never go near Times Square, or Rock center, or even 5th Ave. Soho is the one area I'd probably see the most tourists, but even then I still find myself in central Soho maybe 2-3 times a year at most.

^ I tend to be in either midtown or downtown and in august those areas are crawling with 'em. Sad about the empire state building shooting last week.

I had the misfortune of having a meeting in trump tower......throngs inside that place, and there's nothing to see except for the motorcycle from american chopper.

Agreed. I paid a visit to NYC this past spring to visit my brother and after seeing the wall of microbrewed beer at the Warren St./West Side Whole Foods, trust me you don't have a lot to complain about compared to the nanny statism here in Greater Toronto/Ontario.
