NYC Subway Bacteria Mapped

On the Upper East Side at 86th and Lexington, 61 unique bacteria were found, including "species associated with" mozzarella cheese, food poisoning, sepsis, heart-valve infections and radiation resistance, WSJ reported in a data visualization, which allows a search for any station in the city.

In Corona, Queens, the 7 train showed signs of kimchi and sauerkraut, toxic cleanup, urinary-tract infections and more.

Flatbush Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, had 54 species, including those related to respiratory ailments, oil cleanup and antibiotic resistance.
