It was a good time but a small crowd. Several of my more eccentric "industry" friends were not able to come at the last minute and most of the New York folks chickened out. Still all in all we had a very good dinner, good drinks, and pleasant conversation. We'll get together again in July. Once I know that date of the next shows I'll post it here/make another thread. The shows generally run Sunday-Wednesday. I'll keep the meetings the Tuesday night of that week.

Incidentally, I dined twice at The Polo Bar. It's absolutely ridiculous but very very good. Taylor Swift was there the first time and Harvey Weinstein the second.

You really didn't give much advance notice...to be fair.

Oh, I know that. I wasn't trying to come across as complaining (except maybe to subtly rib lefty.) I didn't firm up my travel plans until very late so I obviously didn't want to set up something I couldn't attend. I'll give you guys much better notice for July.

I also can get along with pretty much anyone (hah Biscotti) so dating comes very naturally to me.

They should double the fares, it'll get more of the riffraff off the trains.

I'll elaborate. The two biggest "problem people" on the subways are hobos that stink like liquid garbage and clear out cars, and mobs of loud kids on their way to/from school. The former jump the gates to find their new home for the day, while the latter have cards provided by the school. A $500 metrocard wouldn't do a damn thing here.

But if you're ugly, short, or have no money, dating is still probably easier in NYC than anywhere else.

True, there are definitely women (or men) who would still give you a go.
