Confucius say: Winter tires help prevent $3k repair bills.

Was at Warehouse Wines & Liquors in the Village earlier. I get on line. 2 chicks in front of me with 2 bags willed with wine. Check-out girl is holding the Citi debit card. Chick/customer is scrolling through her phone.

I am standing there saying, WTF. Chick/customer scrolling through her phone finally says, "Here is an e-mail to me with my name." Mgr comes over. He says, WTF. Customer says...see, the name on the card is XYZ and here is an e-mail to me, XYZ!

Really......

Mgr says...you have no ID and the card isn't signed. Customer/chick has a huge pocketbook and wallet and had nothing else in there with the name of the person on the Citi card. Customer tries to argue again...but here is a GMAIL with my name on it. Where the fuck does that work?

After mgr says no, she says...."whatever, we will buy it somewhere else."

Register girl empties the bag. Appr 10 bottles of vino. I had to witness this feeble attempt to get over on 10+ bottles of vino.

(I paid for my bottle of Stoil with my unsigned CC. Was not asked for ID......but I am a regular at that spot.)

liquor store are hit with frauds all the time. I've literally been on line and there's been unsavory looking guys in front of me who are flipping through and trying card after card so they could buy a mangnum of Moet.

Warehouse is a funny place. My father-in-law loves the "deals" but 1/2 the wine he gets is turned enough that even I can tell it's bad (his solution is to 'just drink it fast'). I have seen some good booze deals on stuff that you don't see everywhere...

Cool weather when? confused.gif

indeed some of their wines are of sketchy provenance, but if you know a little about what you're looking for they do have a few deals. Still, I'd sooner just deal with the train and hop on over to BQE wines for some deals.

I'm a vodka drinker. I buy the big bottle of Stoli for $35(plus tax) at Warehouse vs close to $60 at my local store 2.5 blocks from my casa. They also have some of the better prices for spirits in NYC.

spirit markups tend to vary quite a bit from shop to shop. The stores with the actual lowest prices around are making like a buck over wholesale on it. Wine tends to be a different story.

I just replaced my 2 rear wheels because they were dented due to the harsh winter. And it's almost winter again.

some c sucker hit my front quarter panel, above the wheel well, with a home depot cart. Broke the small turn signal light and left me a small orange stained dent right below it. Its best that he/she was not there when I got to the car as I was with my very ghetto brother and he would have demanded a 2x4 across the person's head on principle alone, and I would rather not spend time in jail.

If you would have been driving a pick-up truck, that wouldn't have happened. lol8[1].gif
