Reasons why New York Sucks - Page 476

if that all white clothing dinner is "rain or shine", I may reconsider my stance on it. Steak and a wet t-shirt contest? In.

I love jumping onto a train just before the doors close, getting slapped by that sweet air conditioning.

I hate waiting 15 minutes for a train on a platform that's probably over 100 degrees with stagnant air and pushing 99% humidity.

There is too much road construction getting into the city. A trip that normally would take 1 hour and 15 minutes took me over 2 hours at 10:30pm on a Wednesday.

So frustrating.

the roads leading up to the BQE are awful. My immediate thought was "going for a bike ride? Go south."

No way, head to McGolrick Park, or Cooper Park. South of you gets dumpy.

i walked East a little early this morning with the dog, and there's some really cool industrial/graffiti buildings with a smattering of decent looking bars. I'll have to grab a beer at one of these places.

That's true. There is a place a couple blocks south of you that I have always wanted to try out. We should go.

made me really happy that I'm not going to that dinner en blanc thing.

Several friends from high school went to that and posted pics on Facebook. Looked like an insufferable crowd.

I'll at least give the gents the benefit of the doubt, as I would have found it nearly impossible to put together a decent all-white outfit.  I imagine the ladies go overboard, so if a man dons a casual look (linen shirt, shorts or poplins, boat shoes), his formality level clashes with his partner's.  If he dresses up, well, even famous white-wearing men always add some other color: Jay Gatsby, Tony Monero, Tom Wolfe, Sonny Crockett, Puff Daddy, The Good Humor Man.  John Lennon occasionally wore his white suit without a belt; that's the closest I can come up with.
