I love the people who go to the city to just shop at the same stores they have in their local mall.

"Ohh!! Where'd you get that?"

"The city." (H&M)

One thing that I don't understand is the love for Trader Joes. My office building is near a Trader Joes and in the morning walking in there is already a line forming on the sidewalk of people waiting for them to open. If you go there at lunch time forget it! It's a shit show! Let me ask, why is there such pretension around a place that, for the most part, sells bagged frozen warm up meals? confused.gif

i would have agreed with you a few years back but TJs has grown on me.
it's "decent" quality stuff at a good price, in sizes that makes it suitable for apartment living. i live near the one in cobble hill and work from home so i can go there at 9 am and have the store to myself. i avoid the place thursday to tuesday.

What do you buy there? Honestly, they have nothing that I consume other than produce and there are a million produce places right in my neighborhood that I don't have to wait on line for for an hour. Also, the quality of their produce kinda sucks.

You can buy cheap wine at the wine store, but I'm not a wine snob like the rest of you.

their house brand stuff is cheap, but the other wines they sell are usually right at market pricing.

Not really, I chop my own veggies so I don't need to know what it is.

Love me some Trader Joe's, but I live in Long Island... so yeah.

We have one right around the corner from my office and we get a lot of our food staples there -- cereal, trail mix, pretzels, etc. They have a trail mix with dark chocolate, dried strawberries/raspberries, and nuts -- it's like freaking crack.

They also have some microwavable Indian food that's pretty decent for ~$1.25. Have that with some rice and their frozen naan, you're set for a cheap and easy bachelor meal.
