Lows were in the upper 40s in the Adirondacks over the weekend. Slept like a rock thanks to my flannel pajamas. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Every evening has been cool and comfortable, morning walks to work have been sweat free, even lunch has been enjoyable in the shade.

A welcome departure from the previous summer; that was too brutal...

Took a cab from Hell's Kitchen to Koreatown Saturday night and of course there was some motorcycle rally on the cross street our cabbie was planning on using so we had to cut down 7th through Time's Square. Crazy amounts of pedestrian tourists were walking on the street side of barricades, narrowing it down to two usable lanes. There were no cops where this was happening, two blocks down at 42nd street I see tons of cops taking pics with tourists ffffuuuu.gif

I just looked at the 10 day weather forecast and I swear I had to check to see if I was mistakenly looking at San Diego, California. I'm sure something will change soon...

I'm pretty fond of it myself. It just sort of lays it all out there in shameless squalor. It's also pretty beautiful at night under the lights. Broadway in Soho on a Saturday afternoon is what New Yorkers should start hating with the passion they show towards Times Square.

And can we talk about Asian girls staging photoshoots of themselves on Soho street corners so they can post each other on the internet later and pass it off as field journalism? Shit's the fuckin' worst.

It takes too long to get from Brooklyn to the UES when you've been drinking.

Are all youth basketball programs in NYC and NJ funded by young men selling candy on the subway?

They're "funded" by idiots giving those young men money.

I'm not even sure what this means. What sort of field journalism?

Also, my daughter and I were on Broadway in Soho last Wednesday afternoon, in beautiful sunny weather. Is it cool that we enjoyed it, or would we have hated that too if we weren't naive tourists?

I like the ones who are honest.
"I am not on a basketball team. Not raising $ for a school trip. Just trying to make money."

it gets outrageously crowded there on weekends and leading up to the holidays. Same with 5th ave.

I'm sure. We were fortunate enough to be able to stroll around both places in the middle of a weekday, so it wasn't too crazy.

It's the worst. My wife's office is at Broadway & Spring, and it's impossible to get there from the Broadway Lafayette subway stop for all the crowds of tourists window shopping. You basically have to go to Crosby and go around.
