Arkansas is pretty gorgeous. If I moved there tomorrow and built a little compound on a wooded lot 10 miles outside Little Rock and started gardening, I'm 100% certain I'd be happier than I am now.

That is why I have all the same hobbies as an Italian grandpa. It keeps life in the suburbs interesting.

How does NYC income tax work? Back in Detroit you were hit with .5% for working in the city and then another .5% for living in the city. Needless to say the intersection of "working" and "living in the city" was an exceedingly small subset for most of the last 30 or 40 years but hipsters and other folk are now living in the downtown core.

3.5% of personal income.

Depends on how much money you make, but it is between 3% and 4.4% now.

Resident's only. They used to have a commuter tax though.

There was a .5% commuter tax which Pataki repealed in 1999 or 2000.

Why is it that at every Duane Reade the "IN" door is on the left and the "OUT" on the right? Always bothered me.

I am noticing that pedestrians are much more numerous, much slower, and much stupider than they used to be. It's like they are all in silent conspiracy to block my progress.

It was just today I was getting more irritated by people's speed walking. It is like 95% of the city walks like they're fucking palsied.

Which door is closest to the checkout counter? Many stores put the out closest to the checkout to avoid crossing the flows of people coming in and going out, even if it violates the keep-right principle.

Ok, I see that logic, but here in America every traffic flow is on the right side. Everybody instinctively heads to the right side so it goes against that logic that attempts to remedy the flow pattern.
